During the fights, he held court with some members of the media to discuss his future, the potential of a rematch with Marcos Maidana, and all things Adrien Broner. Watch the exclusive video of that backstage interview right here.

And hey, it’s worth watching just to see that epic Adrien Broner beard, and all of the flash he was rocking.

We also have a collection of quotes and highlights, and a partial transcript from what Broner had to say:

Adrien Broner Interview Quotes

Did you underestimate Maidana?

I never underestimated Maidana. He was just the better man that night.

Do you want to fight Maidana again?

Honestly, if I was able to fight Maidana on Sunday, I would have fought him on Sunday. I went to the E.R. after the fight, and I was shadow boxing and ready to go again.

Did you exercise your rematch clause?

Of course. Boxing is boxing and business is business. I opened another fight for my big brother, and I’m happy for him and I’m happy for Maidana. And I gave them a chance to make it happen. Of course I’m gonna get him. He’s gotta fight me. He said he didn’t fight me because the fight was too soon and he was having baby, well, he can have 10 babies but at the end of the day he still has to fight Adrien Broner.

When would that fight happen?

If somebody doesn’t take too much punishment… We could fight in July. I’m going right back to camp. No partying, no breaks for me.

Did you do anything different in training camp?

Of course I did, I grew my beard! …

You could sometimes get a big head, overlook things, stop doing the things you need to do.

What are your plans after the Carlos Molina fight?

I will be trying to make history. I don’t know if it’s been before… I’ll be a four time world champion in four different weight classes by the time I’m 24.

Once you get to the status that I am in boxing, I can go to any weight class right now and fight for a world title… I got the ability to do that. I know I Will be fighting for a world title at 140 real soon.

Did you move up too soon?

How can you say that when I’m already a 147 lb champion? I’ve already won a 147 lb title! So you can’t say that.

What do you think about Danny Garcia?

I love Danny Garcia…. I don’t make my fights. Like my last fight, my fans made that fight… I just want Danny Garcia to keep winning. I’m with Danny Garcia. We’re on the same team. If we fight later down the line so be it. But right now, we’re on the same team.

Are you excited about fighting on Floyd’s undercard?

Everybody’s like I’m piggybackin’ I’m piggybackin’, but at the end of the day, hell, what am I supposed to do? If I got a chance to fight on the biggest stage of boxing in this era, why not? Why not take advantage? Why not get the exposure? Why not take his fans? Because after Floyd Mayweather, somebody’s gotta take over! Of course I’m excited. It’s like two pay-per-view shows on one night. I’m still Adrien Broner at teh end of the day.

On his love for the sport…

I love watching boxing. I don’t care if they just started boxing, or they been boxing for 20 years…. I love watching boxing.

On the aftermath of losing to Maidana…

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer… After I lost I didn’t get as many calls as I used to. There weren’t as many people around as there usually be. Now I’m only riding a few deep.

Losing that fight was definitely the best thing ever happened in my career. Here’s the thing, if Adrien Broner didn’t lose that fight… if you think I’m a jackass now… what would I have been then!?

I want to thank the lord for giving me that wake up call, and letting me know that I gave it to you and I can take it away.

On training camp…

I’m in shape. I’m ready. I’ve been in shape these last couple of weeks. There’s been a lot of ass kicking going on in the gym… you’re going to see a different Adrien Broner on May 3rd.

On working with Lamont Peterson…

It gets hectic in the gym. We’re brothers outside the ring but in that ring, hey, if you don’t come ready to strap up and go to war, you’re gonna get beat up pretty bad in there… We spar all the time… everybody spars!

On taking step-aside money to not fight Maidana…

I exercised my rematch clause, so I wanted that rematch. ASAP… There’s just some things that are not supposed to be said on camera… I’m just saying man, read between the lines. Boxing… you will never know the inside of boxing if you’re not inside of boxing.

On which division he’s fighting in…

It don’t matter what division I’m in. I’m gonna be great. I’m gonna do some elite things, do great things in any division I’m in. 140 is feeling real good to me right now.

On his jewelry…

Well, some people may never see that much money in their life time. But I work hard for that.

(How much is it worth?)

We can’t really talk about no numbers, I got baby mamas!

On changes in his life these days…

I always talk to my big brother, my mentor, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and he tells me to stay out of the media’s way, stay off the internet, focus on boxing, leave the studio alone and get back focused on what got you the name, the fame and all of the money.

(Is it safe to say we won’t be seeing any more money burning and tapes that leak out…)

It’s not safe to say none of that! I’m definitely only getting older.

Well, classic Adrien Broner from start to finish, and some choice material in there. Thanks for checking out our exclusive video interview footage and quote collection with Broner.
