AIBA unveils logo for 2014 women’s World Championships

The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has unveiled the logo for the upcoming AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, taking place on November 13-25 in Jeju island, Korea.

The tandem of an AIBA female boxer juxtaposed with a beautiful landscape of the host place Jeju Island is an evocative image, with the woman boxing with the blue sea as background.

Women’s boxing has taken the world by storm ever since the first AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in 2001 in Scranton, America.

Today it represents one of the fastest growing competitions in international boxing, and in 2012 was included in the Olympic Games for the first time.

Boxers aged 19 to 40 compete in 10 weight categories: 45-48 kg, 51 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, 60 kg, 64 kg, 69 kg, 75 kg, 81 kg and 81+ kg in the Championships, showcasing the very best female fighters on the planet.
