Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Rumors have Died Down
These days, it seems that all of the rumors regarding Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather have stopped swirling around. After Pacquiao's win over Clottey and Mayweather's win over Mosley, it at first seemed like there was a new "breaking" report every day. A friend of a friend who knows the inside workings of Team Mayweather might say that Floyd is ready to make a deal, or a local associate of Pacquiao in the Philipines might assure the world that he knows Manny will take the blood tests.

Stories such as this popped up everyday, leaving boxing fans to wonder what in the world would actually happen, and whether or not another very public breakdown of negotiations would occur. While keeping a fight such as Pacquiao vs. Mayweather in the media's eyes can be beneficial, it can also lead to disaster.
The media provides a great soundboard for fighters, promoters and other individuals involved to take shots at the other side, to go back on earlier agreements or statements and to generally stir the pot when it doesn't need to be stirred. So perhaps the lack of news regarding Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is actually a good thing.
Maybe the two sides are actually sitting down behind closed doors to work out all of the details and fine print regarding the best fight of the generation. Maybe the next piece of news will be the ultimate, that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is signed, sealed and delivered, and we'll be seeing it come to us live on a chilly November night from Dallas, perhaps. Of course, that's all speculation, and maybe both sides simply aren't talking to each other, and there hasn't been any news or swirling rumors because there is nothing to report.
Or maybe we have all just become weary of the ongoing media battles and the constant reports, stuffed to the brim with a complete lack of real news. There is plenty else to focus our attention on in boxing, with the ongoing Super Six, the jam-packed junior welterweight division, and much more. Hopefully we'll all be perked up with a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao announcement in the coming weeks or months. But until then, if we don't have to sit through daily "news" flashes on the event, well, that would be just fine by me.

the mayweathers are so busy devising ways and means not to fight pacquaio. that 0 record is almighty important to floyd because he knows he had been fighting small in marquez and over the hill and slumping fighters like oscar and mosley. can’t blame floyd though,

One thing I read all over from Manny’s fans is always some hate on Floyd while Floyd’s fans are not as emotional. Floyd desnt care about comision rules because they never protect the fighter(Mosely vs Delahoya etc Mosely was juicing and comision couldnt find it) All Floyd said is take the test and we have a fight. whats the hard part for Manny not to take the test. First it was, he’s scared of needles, then; was superstition stuff, then was later said to be “he feels weak”.

You say some shit u know nothing off. First, if blood tests are administered, both will get the same amount of tests n not just Manny. Mayweather’s got nothing to gain from beating a blown-up flyweight.
But let’s assume that Mayweather wants to be a top pound-4-pound fighter. He has to out do Pacquiao. He needs to go up two weight classes. If he seriously want’s to be considered better than darchiniyan, Dirrell, Donaire, and Abraham on the pound for pound scale (beating manny’s not gonna do), he’s gotta fight the best of light middle if not middle:
Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto, Cory Spinks, Daniel Jacobs, Julio Ceasar Chavez Jr. (should draw a crowd), Alfredo Angulo, Kermit Cintron, or Antonio Margarito.
He’s shared weight-classes with a few of these guys in the past, but never had to ball to fight them. Now that Manny in one year at welter at taken out more top welters than Floyd could in five, one can not help but to think that it may be time for mayweather to grow a pair, and man up. If he trust his skill, or he could just continue to hype up his mediocre victories and play pretend best fighter, which he’s becoming quite accustomed to.

Floyd is a very smart man and he knows that what the writer writes is not what the public thinks. The public except the Philippines would agree 100percent that Floyd is head and shoulders above Manny. Freedy Roach can talk as much as he likes or get as many authors to write as many bias articles as this it would not work. If and when they fight it would only be after RANDOM DRUG TESTING and Floyd getting 60-40 split. No trainer or coach cannot influence the boxing public. Floyd is the man and would only fight if those conditions are met.
