Arthur Abraham Is Going to Crush Carl Froch

Abraham vs. Froch Opens up Super Six Stage 3
The first bout of Stage 3 in the Super Six tournament, Arthur Abraham vs. Carl Froch, is coming on August 17th. This bout promises to be the most action-packed outing of the Super Six tournament yet, as the division's two biggest punchers collide. The bout also renews the classic Britain vs. Germany rivalry that exists in the minds of all UK-based sports fans (albeit in the minds of virtually no one in Germany). Yet it is a bad match-up for Froch, so bad in fact it is hard to see it happening outside of the structure of a tournament like the Super Six. Carl "The Cobra" Froch" will lose this fight, and lose it bad.
In many ways, Carl Froch has always reminded me a bit of Washington, DC's William Joppy, a two-time WBA middleweight champ in the late 1990s. Froch is a lot bigger that Joppy, of course, and Joppy was certainly faster than the plodding Briton. However, both fighters have a hands-down style that relies on footwork and reflexes to avoid blows, and sheer toughness to soak the blows up when they land. Joppy was a lot better at the first half of that than Froch has ever been or will ever be, but Froch is made of granite, from his head to his ankles. To a certain extent, being temptingly easy to hit is a part of the game plan with that kind of defense, since it lures the other guy into position where you can hammer him back. That strategy has worked so far, but it will fail miserably against Abraham.
First, Abraham is nothing if not patient. He lost his cool against the slick, fast-moving Andre Dirrell once he was in danger of losing the fight, but otherwise Abraham has shown a willingness to drop rounds if it meant he was figuring out the other guy and getting to a point where the big guns could come out. While I expect Froch to punch with enough muscle to periodically drive Abraham's high guard apart, I do not see the Cobra being able to do so consistently enough to score on his preferred terms. Abraham will do what he does best, and in so-doing he will take Froch out of Froch's game plan. Froch will probably retaliate by fouling the crap out of Abraham, who will no doubt respond in kind, but I doubt Abraham will abandon his game plan in doing so.
On the other side of this equation, Froch's defense is limited and the road to his jaw is wide open. Once Abraham feels he can safely bring his guns to bear, Froch's chin will be tested over and over again. Granite or not, there is simply no way Froch can take repeated, square-on hard shots from a banger like Abraham. If Jermain Taylor was able to drop Froch, Abraham will crack him open like a walnut. I don't even think it will take that long, and I feel this fireworks-laden battle will end with Froch on the canvas before the 6th Round.

Right, and now begins the lesson….
1 – Abraham does not wait and study, he stands with his guard high
waiting for his opponent to tire and take breath. He does this
round after round after round. There is no technique or clever
assimilation going on. He is no Ali style genius.
Abraham does this EVERY fight, its boring AND predictable.
2 – Froch is a slow starter. Mix this with Abraham being a boring
high handed chancer, makes for few fireworks within the 1st 6
rounds. Abraham will throw NOTHING that troubles Carl the 1st
half of this fight and Froch is a MUCH higher level than bloody
Miranda so forget that one.
3 – He who copies the Style of Abraham BEATS Abraham. Let him work,
let him punch, round after round after round zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I guarantee, it would be THE most boring fight EVER.
Abraham is strong but…..VERY boring and VERY basic.
Froch on points.
See, the problem with you, and small time no thinkers like you, is that you are not original. You are at the hotel bar when other, more studious journalists are doing their job properly.
Froch is slow: Myth. He is actually pretty fast, and certainly wobbled Kessler a few times. Meanwhile, the likes of yourself, who got picked on at school and have never been in a fight (at least on the winning side) got all giddy when the crowd got excited and did not spot the fact that CF was never even close to being hurt, and so feel free to write nonesense about a sport you know fuck all about.
Froch is very hard, and deserves credit. If you are a writer, your job is to …….
.. Forget it, why cast pearls among swine?
you are correct when you say
“Froch is made of granite, from his head to his ankles”
Due to your analysis you should know that granite is very hard. A large sledge hammer will bounce back off the surface about as quickly as it went down. A small hammer drill will not even drill a 1/4″ hole in it. Even a Hitachi non rotary demolition hammer does not
make too much of an impact on the surface. As a result of this Froch will win.
If you think the england germany rivalry exists only in the minds of the english you should have been in berlin a couple of weeks back when the german football team beat the english. The celebrations far outstripped those after the game against argentina although that victory was the greater achievement.
Froch may beat Abraham as he’s a stronger fighter than those Abraham has thus far met.
Ok so the krouts beat England at football in the world cup, did anybody see the EU olypics and how many ass whoop’ins the brit’s gave the Krouts then???? Its been a well known fact for years that the current England squad has always needed scrapping anyway, there crap. period. And yes, the guy who wrote this Rubbsih, Our carl, and sspeak from the heart being from Nottinghm, is going to smash that peak-a-boo style to pieces, you think carls not going to welcome AA burst outs? hes not going to be running no-where for AA to get all bent out of shape like with AD. But in AA favour, and i do like AA, the merander fight with a broken jaw! he aint going to be easy, but yes, he counts on you to spend out all your power on his gaurd, then he steams in with big bombs, carlwill match that agression with glea. Go Carl FROCH!!!!
Viva the King !
