Bailey vs. Alexander postponed due to Bailey injury

According to this report on RingTV.com, the Randall Bailey vs. Devon Alexander fight is going to be postponed. Bailey vs. Alexander was set to headline the Showtime card on September 8th, however, Bailey suffered an injury while sparring, and the fight cannot go off as planned.

The event will still be held next Saturday though, and the co-featured fight between Lucas Matthysse and Ajose Olusegun will be bumped up to the main event of the card. That’s a nice match-up right there, although the card will now be even more overshadowed by the HBO-televised event on September 8th, headlined by the huge fight between Andre Ward and Chad Dawson.

For the time, it looks like Bailey vs. Alexander will take place later in the fall, and won’t be canceled entirely. That’s a good thing, since this was a fairly intriguing clash of styles, and you never know what to expect when the KO King steps through the ropes.

Stay tuned for more updates and we’ll keep you posted with anything else we hear on this.
