The rematch will be televised on Showtime, and right here you can find and watch two special video previews for the bout. First, take in a video featuring a sort of roundtable fighter interview session with both Ortiz and Berto giving their thoughts on the first fight and the rematch. Then, watch the official Showtime fight promo video as well.

Ortiz & Berto Roundtable Fighter Interviews

Each fighter gives his thoughts about what's coming up, why or why not the rematch should be taking place, and what happened in the first meeting. Ortiz feels the rematch wasn't really necessary, as the first fight wasn't even close. But Berto talks about having Ortiz hurt on several occasions, and how he dropped his welterweight strap just for the purpose of putting this fight together, so he's motivated and taking it very seriously to be certain.

Official Ortiz-Berto II Promo Video

This is the quick-hitting, official 30 second Ortiz vs. Berto II video promo from Showtime. Their first "epic thriller" of course was televised by HBO last April. But the rematch is on Showtime in a month, and they're proud to be offering this hopefully just-as-thrilling rematch. Check out their commercial and official fight preview video.

Arthur Abraham Q&A Interview: I was too passive in the Super Six…I’ll be More Active Now http://www.proboxing-fans.com/arthur-abraham-qa-interview-i-was-too-passive-in-the-super-six-ill-be-more-active-now_010512/ http://www.proboxing-fans.com/arthur-abraham-qa-interview-i-was-too-passive-in-the-super-six-ill-be-more-active-now_010512/#comments Thu, 05 Jan 2012 17:30:11 +0000 ProBoxing-Fans.com http://www.proboxing-fans.com/?p=21530 Former IBF Middleweight Champion & Super Six World Boxing Classic semi-finalist King Arthur Abraham (32-3, 26 KOs) returns on January 14 when he takes on Pablo Farias (19-1, 11 KOs) in Offenburg, Germany. Right here, you can find a quickfire interview with  the 31-year-old former champ as he's finally just days away from his return to the squared circle.

Q: Arthur, January is not a popular fight date for most boxers because it means that you have to train through the Christmas and the New Year festivities. What was it like for you?

Credit: Tom Casino / Showtime

AA: “I trained all the time. No matter whether it was Saturday, Sunday, Christmas or New Year's Day – I did not miss a single training session. On the days when Ulli Wegner was not available, his assistant Georg Bramowski took care of me. I did not complain about the hard training. It´s part of an athlete’s life. It's not that bad to skip the sweets and the good food during Christmas time.”

Q: Are you looking forward to your ring return?

AA: “Yes, very much so. That's why it was ok for me to train so hard in the past weeks. I have not fought since May. It has really been a long break.”

Q: You have been target to a lot of criticism after your losses in the Super Six tournament. How have you dealt with it?

AA: “Well, if you lose, you get criticized. That’s fine with me and that is something you have to live with. But I am not thinking about it any more. I have put it behind me. I am focusing on the future now.”

Q: Nevertheless, have there been any lessons learned?

AA: “You cannot change the past. You just have to accept it and try to improve in the future. I would not say I boxed “poorly” or committed a lot of mistakes. I just was too passive in the fights. I have prepared well for the fight in Offenburg but that is not any different from the last bouts. However, I will try to be more active, try to punch more.”

Q: What can the fans expect from you on January 14?

AA: “They can look forward to seeing the old Arthur Abraham, the one who won the world title and made ten successful defenses!”

Q: What are your goals for 2012?

AA: “I only have one goal. I want to be world champion again.”

In February 2012, he'll have a homecoming fight in Cardiff, and he's already in his preparations for that bout. Right here, you can watch a video interview with Cleverly, where he discusses that fight in front of his hometown faithful, all of the big names in the U.K. fight scene who have been suffering setbacks, the guys he'd like to get in the ring, and more.

Cleverly wants any of the big names at light heavyweight, including Bernard Hopkins. He'd also like to face Beibut Shumenov. And there's always an all-UK meeting between him and Carl Froch, with Froch having just lost in the Super Six to Andre Ward. With Froch's loss, Khan's loss the week before, and David Haye's poor showing this summer against Wladimir Klitschko, Cleverly finds himself in the position as one of the top guys in any weight class in the U.K. right now, and he's trying to represent with that and continue adding to his accolades.

He's hoping for a big year in 2012, and hopes he can finally land some of those big fights. Enjoy the video Cleverly interview above and keep on checking back with ProBoxing-Fans.com for more of the latest breaking boxing news.

Quick Q&A With Undefeated Prospect Janks Trotter http://www.proboxing-fans.com/qa-with-undefeated-prospect-janks-trotter_120811/ http://www.proboxing-fans.com/qa-with-undefeated-prospect-janks-trotter_120811/#comments Thu, 08 Dec 2011 17:55:29 +0000 ProBoxing-Fans.com http://www.proboxing-fans.com/?p=20733 Right here, you can take a look at a Q&A interview session with Undefeated Light Middleweight Boxer Janks Trotter. Trotter last fought on November 19 when he was awarded an 8th round TKO victory over highly regarded Richard Reittie in Calgary. His record stands at 7-0-1 w/7 knockouts. Here is the interview in its entirety.

Interview Conducted by Dominic Welles

DW: 8 months ago some boxing pundits were calling you a club fighter with no chance of becoming anything but a journeyman in the ring....were you offended?

JT: No, writers are going to write whatever they feel like writing...My job is to fight.

DW: Your record is 7-0-1 with 7 knockouts...would you be getting more press if you were an American fighting out of Chicago. After all, Canada isn't the boxing capitol of the world!

JT: I don't have any control over that stuff..I'm Canadian...do you want to see my birth certificate?

DW: Can I take a rain check? I hear rumors that you want to win a world title and then leave boxing....Is that true?

JT: I love boxing but I don't want to lie to myself...If I can't win a world title, I won't hang round and pretend!

DW: Why didn't you turn pro immediately after a winning amateur career?

JT: Politics and betrayal!...enough said.

DW: You called out highly touted Adam Trupish and he responded with some vicious expletives...will you guys square off and settle the question of who is the best light middleweight in Canada?

JT: I have already said yes. Our PR guy tells me Fan Base Promotions gets emails every day asking... when?..I'm not convinced Adam wants to fight me...maybe he will do for Canada. and the many boxing fans we have!

DW: What if I told you that there is a circulating rumor that Trotter VS Trupish will happen on Friday 13th in January 2012 at Desperado's Night Club in Calgary ..what would your reaction be?

JT: I don't pay attention to rumors..show me a signed contract; then I'll react!

You can also check out this video containing footage of both guys training during media day. See how they are looking and see what they do in the gym as the fight nears:

Both of these guys have nothing but respect for one another, so there's no hatred or trash-talking here. Each is just doing his own thing to be fully prepared and try to win the fight against an opponent he has already met once before. This past summer these two put on a hell of an all-action battle, and they'll be looking to do the same thing on Saturday, this time in front of the big stage at the Garden.

Q&A Interview with Dereck Chisora as He Readies for Helenius http://www.proboxing-fans.com/qa-interview-with-dereck-chisora-as-he-readies-for-helenius_112611/ http://www.proboxing-fans.com/qa-interview-with-dereck-chisora-as-he-readies-for-helenius_112611/#comments Sat, 26 Nov 2011 14:30:02 +0000 ProBoxing-Fans.com http://www.proboxing-fans.com/?p=20151 Dereck Chisora (15-1, 9 KOs) and WBA/WBO Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion Robert Helenius (16-0, 11 KOs) will collide for the vacant European Heavyweight Title in Helsinki on December 3. Right here you'll find an interview session with the 27-year-old British fighter who is convinced he will knock out “The Nordic Nightmare” in front of his Finnish fans.

Q: Dereck, why will you leave the ring as the winner on December 3?

DC: “Because I'm back to my best. Nobody will beat me when I'm at my best.”

Q: What do you think about fighting in front of 12,000 wild Finnish fans?

DC: “No worries at all. The more the better, the crowd against me will really spur me on to win. I'll be a bigger hit in Finland than Nokia!”

Q: You said in an interview with the Finnish press that you plan "to make love to Helenius" in the ring. What do you mean by that?

DC: “Take that how you like it, I'll make him mine on December 3.”

Q: What makes you so confident of success?

DC: “I've got to win or I have nowhere to go. Everything is on the line in this fight so I have to win to continue in my career and get a world title fight.”

Q: What are Helenius´ weaknesses?

DC: “He's a good strong fighter and I'm looking forward to testing myself against him. I know whenever I hit someone clean they will go. So I look forward to seeing how his chin holds up.”

Q: Helenius has knocked out three former world champions. Are you scared of his punching power?

DC: “All heavyweights can bang, we're big men, but its if you can take it and fire back. I'll be in front of him all night long throwing bombs.”

Q: What do you think of Helenius´ personality?

DC: “I don't know the guy, I'll shake his hand after the fight. It's all business in the ring, I don't hate him, it's just business to me.”

Q: What about the Klitschkos? You were ready to fight Wladimir when he pulled out due to injury. Are they ducking you? Would you still like to fight him?

DC: “I want the brothers and, yes, they are ducking me. I've got to beat Helenius and get the European title so I can be in a position to fight Wlad or Vitali.”

Q: Is Helenius your stepping stone to Klitschko?

DC: “I look at him more as an obstacle in the road and he's got to be moved out of the way.”

Q: Why will you be better than in the Fury fight?

DC: “Because I've got the hunger back and I'm ready to do some damage. I'm training hard for this fight because I let myself down against Fury, I can beat Fury, I beat myself on that night.”

Q: “Finally, a message to the Finnish fans?

DC: “I'm sorry, but your boy is going down. But he'll come back, just not while I'm on the scene!”

Floyd Mayweather Sr. Interview: Pacquiao Got Whupped http://www.proboxing-fans.com/floyd-mayweather-sr-interview-pacquiao-got-whupped_112311/ http://www.proboxing-fans.com/floyd-mayweather-sr-interview-pacquiao-got-whupped_112311/#comments Wed, 23 Nov 2011 19:47:18 +0000 Ralph Rimpell http://www.proboxing-fans.com/?p=20138 ProBoxing-Fans.com recently had a chance to catch up with self proclaimed “best trainer in boxing”, Floyd Mayweather Sr. During the interview Floyd Sr. talked about his brief association with Fernando Vargas, his thoughts on the recent Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez fight, if he has any regrets about not being in Oscar De La Hoya’s corner when he fought Floyd Jr. in light of the current friction with his son as viewed on 24/7 and much more…

ProBoxing-Fans.com (PBF): Who are you currently working with now?

Floyd Sr. (FS): I don’t even know all their names man. Different fighters, pound for pound. Got a couple girls, couple guys, got about 14-15 fighters.

PBF: There was some talk that Fernando Vargas was training with you out in Las Vegas. Is that true? What happened with the two of you?

FS: Oh Yeah. I was workin with him. Nothing really happened. He just one day decided to stop. I don’t know his reason. He just decided to stop.

PBF: So Fernando is not gonna make a come back as far as you know?

FS: Far as I know, he’s not.

PBF: What do you think about the Pacquiao-Marquez fight? What are your thoughts?

FS: Pacquiao got his ass whupped!

PBF: You think so?

FS: I know so. You a boxing fan? What do you think?

PBF: I’m lookin at Marquez's face, lookin at Pac’s face after the fight and the boxing stats.

FS: We talkin about boxing man. OK?  Nothing else. You sittin up here you a Pacquiao fan. You talkin to the wrong person.

PBF: You think Pacquio lost? I respect that, look I’ve never laced up a pair of gloves and had a pro-fight.

FS: Thank you. Now we talkin. That explain everything right there. You don’t know what you lookin at man. You don’t know what you lookin at man. Pacquiao got his ass whupped!

PBF: In your opinion Pacquaio lost the fight?

FS: Look man, what did I say? Pac got his ass whupped!

PBF: What do you think about your son’s fight against Ortiz?

FS: What do you think?

PBF: I think obviously Floyd Jr was the better man and Ortiz wasn’t in his league. It was a foregone conclusion of what Floyd was gonna do (win by KO). What were your thoughts?

FS: Is that all you think about the fight? Referee told them to fight. My son didn’t do nothing wrong. The Referee told them to continue. He gave instructions and you supposed to protect yourself at all times and he did that.

PBF: Do you think your son is still pound for pound right now the best fighter in the game?

FS: I know he the best PFP! They not trying to fight my son. That what it’s all about. Pacquiao got to take the test. If he take the test Floyd gonna give him an ass whupping. Pacquio cannot beat Floyd Mayweather Jr.

PBF: Pacquiao started out at 108 1bs (Flyweight). Your son started out as a junior lightweight (130lbs). They both fought as high as 154 lb., Pacquiao against Margarito for the 154lb title and  Floyd against Oscar for the 154lb title. Is it a fair assessment against Pacquio as far as a cloud of suspicion in how he put on all that weight and is competing on such a high level?

FS: My son has not done nothing wrong. Pacquio got to take the test. My beef against Pacquiao and Margarito it was not a straight fair win.

PBF: Many fans saw the episode of 24/7 on HBO. Will you and Floyd ever have a relationship? Why do you and Floyd have friction after all these years?

FS: Man I thought you wanted to talk boxing.

PBF: I do. This is related to boxing. That what makes it so fascinating. Your relationship with your son and boxing go hand in hand. Trying to keep it real for the readers who want to know. Whether I’m in a bar or restaurant the fans want to know. They ask me these questions.

FS: Not sure we will ( Reconciling with son, Floyd Jr.).

PBF: Some boxing writers speculate that you didn’t want to train Oscar when he fought your son.

FS: I never did give Oscar (De La Hoya) the call anyway. Whether I wanted to get in there or not, it didn’t happen.

PBF: Do you have any regrets you weren’t in Oscar’s corner against your son?

FBS: I’m not ever gonna regret being in another man’s corner fightin against my son. To me that bear on me mostly then my son. It took a toll on both of us. It’s a lot behind all that.

PBF: Is there currently a fighter in boxing  whether it be Bradley,  Khan, or Berto that could possible beat your son?

FS: Nope.

PBF: If you ever got the call like, Manny Steward, to train a Berto, Bradley, or Khan if they were looking for a new trainer to prepare against your son, would you do it?

FS:  That thing with De La Hoya didn’t go through. The Lord made it not go through. I’m not trying to train no one against my son. Whether he’s (Floyd Jr.) the best or the worst.

PBF: Mr. Mayweather, thank you for your time. Look forward to seeing you at the fights. Happy Holidays.

FS: Thank you.

Q&A Interview with Anselmo Moreno http://www.proboxing-fans.com/qa-interview-with-anselmo-moreno_112311/ http://www.proboxing-fans.com/qa-interview-with-anselmo-moreno_112311/#comments Wed, 23 Nov 2011 18:12:23 +0000 ProBoxing-Fans.com http://www.proboxing-fans.com/?p=20132 Moreno Makes US Debut Against Darchinyan on Dec 3rd Agbeko-Mares II Undercard:

Just one month out from the biggest fight of his life and his first in the United States, Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno and his wife Rouss Laguna Moreno found out they are expecting twins.

There are indeed big things ahead for the 26-year-old fighter from Panama City, Panama, who will also be making his Showtime and Golden Boy Promotions debuts, when Moreno will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Bantamweight Super Championship against Two-Division World Champion Vic “The Raging Bull’’ Darchinyan on Showtime on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Credit: Team Moreno

In the main event, unbeaten rising star Abner Mares will defend his International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver Bantamweight Championship titles against the boxer he dethroned, former two-time IBF 118-pound champion Joseph King Kong Agbeko.

Moreno (31-1-1, 11 KO’s) met his wife after one of his fights in Panama.  Rouss’ father is the former lightweight world champion Ismael Laguna, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2001 and the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1999. Anselmo, whose personal website can be found at www.chemitomoreno.com, recently took time out from training camp to answer six questions about himself and his upcoming fight.

QUESTION: What do you expect to see from Vic Darchinyan, who many are calling your toughest opponent to date?

MORENO: “I feel like I’m a strong fighter just like he is.  I’m at the point in my career when I’m ready to fight the great ones like a Vic Darchinyan.  He has a good record and I have a lot of respect for him.  He will be quick and come forward and I’m aware of his power.”

QUESTION: Do you hope to someday have as much success in the United States as fellow Panamanian and New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Riviera has had?

MORENO: “Why not?  He worked hard to get where he is in America and now I’m beginning my journey to hopefully get there too.  My time is coming to be in the same place.  He’s viewed as a hero here, of course, but I have never met him since he has been living in the States.”

QUESTION: Do people recognize you on the streets of Panama?

MORENO: “Yes, people do when I’m out running and they want to stop me and take a picture with me.  They stop me in the supermarket and want to meet me.  There aren’t too many famous athletes from here and Roberto Duran was the most famous boxer.  I know I wouldn’t be recognized walking down the street in Los Angeles now, so that’s what I’m hoping will change after a few more fights in the States.”

QUESTION: Do you think you will have more fans in Anaheim cheering for you than Darchinyan on Dec. 3?

MORENO: “That’s easy, Vic will; just because he’s fought there before and there are lots of Armenians that will be there cheering for him.  I do plan on bringing a lot of friends and family from Panama who will be loud and carrying the Panamanian flag.  I’ve won big fights in Germany and France, so I’m used to it, but for sure there will be a lot more cheering for Darchinyan.”

QUESTION: What do you plan on doing immediately after the fight?

MORENO: “We always take a week-long trip with the family.  We are thinking about the Bahamas this time, but my wife just found out last week she is pregnant with twins, so we’re not sure.  We’re very happy about the news and can’t wait.”

QUESTION: What about Disneyland?

MORENO: “No. My wife says she’s in no condition to walk that much or go on any rides.  Right now, I’m just concentrating on the fight. My wife wants to talk about our first trip to the United States and California and this and that, but I don’t want to hear anything about that.  I’m just so focused right now on the fight.”

Freddie Roach Video Interview: Roach Admits he Didn’t Know Pacquiao Won, Couldn’t Complain About Marquez Decision http://www.proboxing-fans.com/freddie-roach-video-interview-roach-admits-he-didnt-know-pacquiao-won-couldnt-complain-about-marquez-decision_111811/ http://www.proboxing-fans.com/freddie-roach-video-interview-roach-admits-he-didnt-know-pacquiao-won-couldnt-complain-about-marquez-decision_111811/#comments Fri, 18 Nov 2011 18:32:23 +0000 ProBoxing-Fans.com http://www.proboxing-fans.com/?p=19953 In a very honest and forthcoming video interview with Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao's trainer discusses the thrilling third encounter his charge had with Juan Manuel Marquez. The interview was conducted after the fight by Top Rank's Crystina Poncher. Roach admits he didn't know that Pacquiao had won, and that he wouldn't have complained if Marquez had gotten the decision. He also credits Marquez's intelligence and style in the ring, and says Pacquiao has fallen into traps and made mistakes in all three bouts, and would need to do something else in the fourth fight, if there was one... and he's not too eager to see that happen.

It's all very revealing from Roach, especially since he was calling for Pacquiao to dominate and knock out Marquez in this encounter. Watch the interview below.

Here are a few quotes from Roach talking about the fight and how it turned out:

"Marquez knows how to fight Manny Pacquiao"

"If we fight him again, we have to do something different."

"Manny doesn't move in the right direction, Marquez dictates the footwork... that's the key to fighting a southpaw."

On Manny's foot cramps: "Yea it did affect Manny in the fight a lot, but I'm not going to make any excuses."

"Does he deserve a rematch? Yes. Do I want to give him one? Not really!"

On whether he knew Pacquiao won after the fight: "No, I had no idea who won that fight, it could have gone either way. If it went to Marquez, I can't complain."
