Alvarez takes on former welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir, a tough, pressuring opponent, who should provide some resistance for the young budding star and see what he’s made of. CALIFORNIA’S KALIESHA WEST TO BATTLE ANGEL GLADNEY FOR BANTAMWEIGHT CROWN ON SEPTEMBER 18 AT STAPLES CENTER
Widely considered to be one of female boxing’s best pound for pound fighters, Moreno Valley, California’s Kaliesha West will return home to fight in Southern California on Saturday, September 18 to face South Carolina’s Angel Gladney for the vacant WBO Bantamweight World Title on the off-television portion of the “200: Celebrate and Dominate” Mosley vs. Mora undercard at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.

It all started when David Haye walked away from putting a Klitschko fight together in favor of challenging WBA belt-holder Nikolai Valuev instead. When a second round of negotiations with the Klitschkos fell through, many commentators accused Haye of cowardice and claimed the Briton was running scared. Wladimir Klitschko himself is on the record as stating that he believes Haye won’t fight him because Haye is “afraid.” Now Haye has hit back at allegations that he is “yellow.”
