George Throws First Pitch at Cubs Game

Just eight days ahead of his biggest fight, world-ranked super middleweight Donovan “Da Bomb” George (22-2-1, 19 KOs) took to the mound for their ceremonial first pitch before the start of a Cubs game against the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field.

A lifelong Cubs fan, George threw a perfect strike to huge cheers from the over 30,000 in attendance.

George will proudly wear the jersey presented to him by the Cubs, as he heads into the ring on Friday, August 17, to face the formidable Adonis “Superman” Stevenson (18-1, 15 KOs) in a 12-round IBF Super Middleweight Title Eliminator at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma in the main event on ESPN Friday Night Fights (10 PM Eastern on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN3).

In the 10-round co-feature that night, top junior middleweight contender “King” Carlos Molina (19-5-2, 6 KOs) will face Miami’s Damian “Devo” Frias (19-4-1, 10 KOs).

In Canada, the event will be presented on PPV at Canal Indigo and Bell TV with the telecast starting at 9:00 PM/ET, featuring Stevenson highlights until picking up the ESPN telecast at 10:00 PM/ET.

Tickets are priced from $35.00 to $65.00 and are available at the Buffalo Run Casino Box Office or online at stubwire.com.
