Guerrero throwing first pitch at A’s-Yankees game Sunday

Before he steps into the ring at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California on July 28th to throw heat against number one contender Selcuk Aydin for the vacant WBC Interim Welterweight World Championship, Gilroy’s Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, a three-time world titleholder, will throw heat of another sort when he takes the mound at the Oakland Coliseum to throw out the first pitch before Sunday’s A’s vs. New York Yankees game.

The fistic fireballer will be on the mound at 1:05pm.

Guerrero vs. Aydin, a 12-round fight for the WBC Interim Welterweight World Championship, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Arena-Box Promotion and sponsored by Corona, DeWalt Tools and AT&T.  The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast will air live at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast) with Shawn Porter facing Alfonso Gomez for the NABO Welterweight title in the co-featured fight and preliminary fights to air live on SHOWTIME EXTREME® at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

This continues the trend this summer of boxers and others involved in boxing throwing out first pitches at baseball games, especially California baseball games. I’m losing count of how many people have done this in the past few months alone! Let’s see what Robert Guerrero has on the mound!
