HBO’s The Fight Game with Jim Lampley returns with a new edition this Wednesday at 11pm on HBO. Hosted by the four-time Sports Emmy® winner, who has hosted HBO Boxing since joining the network in 1988, the show is a provocative, engaging and informative experience that delves into intriguing storylines, newsmakers and issues that are top-of-mind in boxing.

On this edition of The Fight Game: Max Kellerman and Bernard Hopkins join Lampley to review the May 7 Canelo Alvarez-Amir Khan middleweight title showdown, preview the fight schedule and address the latest headlines and issues; and Lampley presents a new pound-for-pound compilation.

Canelo’s big knockout win over Khan will surely be a focal point, but so will the looming potential showdown against Gennady Golovkin. Will Canelo face GGG next? That’s what we all want to see, but whether or not it actually comes to fruition is anybody’s guess.

Correspondent Melissa Stark delivers a comprehensive examination of a controversial ruling in men’s amateur boxing, which no longer requires headgear in this summer’s Olympic Games. Interviews include: boxer Mark Dawson; Executive Director of USA Boxing, Mike Martino; neurosurgeon, Dr. Julian Bailes, and Dr. Barry Jordan.
