NBC’s new boxing series, Premier Boxing Champions, has been made official. The series is backed by Al Haymon and his stable of big-name fighters, and is bringing big-time boxing back to network television. Several shows and exciting fights have been lined up, marking a big debut for everyone involved.

First, on March 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada, Keith Thurman takes on Robert Guerrero. Thurman, 24-0 with 21 KOs, is looking for the biggest win of his career. Guerrero, 32-2-1, is looking to launch himself back into the limelight.

Also on the inaugural PBC on NBC card is a fight between Adrien Broner (29-1) and  John Molina Jr. (27-5).

Then, on April 11th in Las Vegas, the second Premier Boxing Champions card will be headlined by Danny Garcia vs. Lamont Peterson, a long-awaited junior welterweight clash.

The whole concept behind the series is not only to provide big fights, but to build talented young fighters into big, household names. The key to doing that is to continue to match fighters toughly, and continue to showcase names so they become familiar and build their own audiences. With that said, and with so much action in the 140 and 147 lbs scene, it’s easy to forecast the winners of these fights squaring off against one another later in the year.

Premier Boxing Champions will include five yearly primetime cards on NBC. There will be additional daytime cards on Saturday afternoons, plus nine additional cards on NBC Sports Network.

Al Michaels will serve as the host for the 11 fights that will be broadcast on NBC, and Sugar Ray Leonard will serve as the analyst.

Stay tuned for more updates and further announcements from the Premier Boxing Champions lineup.
