Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin stepped on the scales this afternoon in Moscow, Russia, in advance of their heavyweight championship clash on Saturday night. Right here, you’ll find the Klitschko vs. Povetkin weigh-in results and photos. Take a look and see what the fighters weighed and how they looked at the weighs.
Klitschko vs. Povetkin Weights
- Wladimir Klitschko: 241.5 lbs (109.6 kgs)
- Alexander Povetkin: 225.75 lbs (102.4 kgs)
So Klitschko has a 15 pound weight advantage over Povetkin, which isn’t that much compared to some opponents. Of course, he’s still the much larger man physically, and Povetkin will find it difficult to go up against a guy with that size, strength and skill. But that’s what he has signed up for. As he mentioned in this interview, he wants to get inside so he can do some damage, but he’ll have to get past the Klitschko jab, his best weapon.
Klitschko looks ripped and ready as always, and while the fight has gone under the radar here in the states, it’s still a huge fight in other places across the globe, and it’s really one of the best possible heavyweight fights out there right now.
Be sure to check back with us later in the weekend for coverage of the fight, and thanks for checking out the Klitschko vs. Povetkin weigh-in results.
