Mayweather Promotions holds Back to School Giveaway event for hundreds of Vegas families

Mayweather Promotions, The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation and the rising stars fighting under the Mayweather Promotions banner held a “Back To School Giveaway” on Saturday, giving away hundreds of school supplies for children in the Las Vegas area as the summer comes to a close and families prepare for the school season.

The event, held at the Mayweather Boxing Club, was hosted by several fighters, Mayweather Promotions staff and volunteers who gave away 500 backpacks filled with grade appropriate school supplies. They also raffled off other supplies including five laptops, plus a donation of five desktop computers to the Clark County School District’s after school program.

Boxers in attendance included former world champion Ishe Smith and lightweight contender Mickey Bey, who fights Miguel Vazquez for his IBF Lightweight World Title on the undercard of “MAYHEM: Mayweather vs. Maidana 2.”

Also in attendance were J’Leon Love, Badou Jack, Ladarius Miller, Andrew Tabiti, Ashley Theophane, Lanell Bellows and Luis Arias, all of whom will be fighting on August 30 in Las Vegas at the Pearl at the Palms Resort and Casino.

“We relish this opportunity to give back to children and families in the Las Vegas community,” said Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions. “This is our community and putting on these kind of events is what Mayweather Promotions is all about.”

“I’m really blessed to be in a position to help these kids. It’s great that Mayweather Promotions is a company that stays so dedicated to improving the community,” said the undefeated super middleweight contender Love.

Children were also treated to fighter autographs, a live-DJ and free haircuts amongst other prizes and entertainment.
