Mosley vs. Mundine to be shown live on ESPN3

ESPN3 to Present Exclusive Live U.S. Coverage of Mosley vs. Mundine on Oct. 23

ESPN3 will present exclusive live coverage in the U.S. of the 12-round Junior Middleweight bout between former three-division champion Shane Mosley (47-8-1, 39 KOs), and Australia’s Anthony Mundine (44-5, 26 KOs) on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from the Sydney Entertainment Center in Sydney. Wednesday’s card will begin at 5 a.m., and ESPN Classic will replay the fight at 9 p.m.

Most fans are surprised that Mosley is continuing on with his career at this point, and stateside, this fight hasn’t generated much interest. So one wonders if in Australia it’s even getting a fair amount of attention.

Mosley at least usually puts on a decent show, although that hasn’t always been the case in recent years. After consecutive beatings at the hands of Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao and Canelo Alvarez, it’s clear he’s well past his best.

One would think he wouldn’t need the money, and he doesn’t have anything left to prove, either. Maybe he’ll take an opportunity like this as a final swansong, but it seems like he’s intent on continuing to fight even after this. Either way, if you feel like waking up at 5 am to taking in the bout, you can check out Mosley vs. Mundine on ESPN3 now.
