USA vs. Cuba World Series of Boxing match postponed until April

Following a request from the Florida State Athletic Commission to clarify the WSB boxers’ eligibility after incorrect information was provided to the body by the USA Knockouts assistant coach, the World Series of Boxing (WSB) has offered to postpone the first leg of the USA Knockouts vs. Cuba Domadores WSB quarter-final which was due to take place on March 28 in Florida.

During a dialog with the Florida State Athletic Commission, the WSB emphasized the importance of clear and mutual understanding on this matter. The WSB maintains it has not held any of its matches in the USA in such a way that they were in violation of the principles and policies of the Commission. Thus, the WSB has offered to clarify the USA Boxing coach’s communication within the next few days.

The WSB has always been grateful for the support offered by the Florida State Athletic Commission throughout the entire Regular Season, and will continue to work transparently with them to clear any misunderstandings which might have arisen in the past few days.

The new date of the USA’s team home match is set for April 11. The Cuban team’s home match in Havana remains scheduled for April 4 at the Ciudad Deportiva.
