Will Mayweather vs. Pacquiao Ever Happen?

Clock is Ticking on Pacquiao vs. Mayweather
The common presumption when it comes to Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather is that sooner or later the egos and posturing will be pushed aside and boxing's two biggest names will settle affairs in the ring. I certainly hope so, but as the issue drags on and on it becomes ever more likely that this fight will never happen. What if Manny Pacquiao decides he likes politics more than boxing and retires, leaving Floyd Mayweather holding the bag? What if one of them loses or simply looks bad in their next fight? That would become the ammunition for a whole new round of posturing and demands on the part of the guy with the untarnished reputation. And so on and so on.
"But surely the money will bring these guys together? Who would turn down that big fat pot of cash in the long run?" Sadly, it has happened before and it will happen again, even in instances where fear of losing might not be the motivating factor. Just as some boxers take a fight they know they cannot win for the payday, fights sometimes don't happen even when money, politics and fear of losing are not a detrimental issue.
Another big fight for Manny Pacquiao would be a Juan Manuel Marquez rubber match, and Pacman certainly thinks he would triumph in such an encounter, yet in my bones I know that is a fight that simply will not happen. Bar none, the biggest fight to be made in all of modern boxing outside of Pacman and Money Mayweather is the big brother vs. little brother showdown, Wlad vs. Vitali. Yet neither Klitschko shows any interest in collecting a huge payday for what would essentially be a friendly, tactical boxing match.
Riddick Bowe had a good chance to win against Lennox Lewis in 1992 and 1993, and it was certainly the most lucrative fight option open to him. Instead, he fought Michael Dokes, Jessie Fergusson and lost a rematch to Holyfield. Even with both Bowe and Lewis in the wilderness in the mid-1990s, the bout still never came about. Joe Frazier and Ken Norton never fought, even though the fan interest and the money were certainly there, simply because their mutual trainer made it plain he would be in neither man's corner if they did meet in a prizefight instead of a sparring match.
I want to see this fight just like every other die-hard boxing fan, but the thing is that I know this business and I know my history. The longer the business of making this fight happen drags out, the less likely it is it will ever happen. Frankly, if the contract isn't signed before the end of 2010, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao will become one of those great "what if" bouts that should have taken place, but never did.
When you see Oscar, Cotto, Hatton demolished with one spanked to boxing oblivion (Hatton) and youre next in line. Would you be scared?

Floyd is probably wishing he did not come out of retirement right now with the pressure and deadline to fight Pacqauio.
i’m a floyd mayweather fan… and i think he’s really scared! im really pissed off that he don’t want to fight manny. pacman agreed on everything but he still won’t sign the contract! come on money! sign the damn contract! i’m starting to dislike you!!!!!
Mayweather is now trembling in fear just his thought of facing Pacquiao in the ring. He is fully aware that a single punch like Hatton had could lead him to paralysis.

The much awaited Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will really never happen because of extreme disagreements and tough conditions. Everyone is aware that Pacquiao really wants to fight Mayweather and agreed to a 14-day prior to the fight blood test. Then, when Mayweather heard that Pacman agreed to the blood test, Floyd is now asking for a bigger share of 60% on the fight purse. For this reason, I believe that this fight will never happen. The longer it takes for Floyd in not signing the contract, the more it is become obvious that it will never happen. Even on the onset, I have said that Mayweather will never fight Pacquiao as he is fearful of losing his undefeated record. Besides, in the mind and mental belief of Floyd, he can never defeat Pacman. So to reverse psychologically, the Mayweathers keep on saying and trash talking that the Pacman is using performance enhancing drugs and so many accusations without any proof. This is the way for the Mayweathers to counter the advantage of Pacquiao over Floyd Jr. Thus, they will always result to this kind of trash talking tactics just to equalize or for people who believe them to get an upperhand. But, still Floyd Jr. will really never fight the Pacman just to preserve his undefeated record. When Pacquiao retires from boxing, you will hear Mayweather Jr comeback in the boxing limelight and his entire Mayweather famil will do a lot of trash talking against Pacquiao. That is for sure! Because they won’t accept the fact that a little man from the Philippines dominated the boxing world, became the only 7-weight division champ, BWAA’s Boxer of the Decade, 3 times BWAA’s Boxer of the Year and heaps of accolades from various sectors of society. Long live Manny Pacquiao!
YES I AGREE WITH YOU THAT WE SHOULD FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE SIDES OF THE TWO BOXERS. HOWEVER, IT IS THIS DUCKER, MAYWEATHER WHO STARTED TO ACCUSE OTHER PEOPLE WITHOUT BASIS. HIS SUSPICION, HE THOUGHT IS ALREADY A CONVICTION. THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW. THE US CONSTITUTION PROVIDES THAT A PERSON IS INNOCENT UNLESS PROVEN GUILTY. THIS IS A SIGN OF MENTAL ILLNESS. WHEN HE KEEPS ON CLAIMING THAT HE IS THE GREATEST, THIS IS A SIGN OF MEGALOMANIA, ANOTHER PSCYHOLOGICAL IMBALANCE.

IF HE DOESN’T WANT TO FIGHT PACQUIAO, ALL HE HAS TO DO IS SAY:” I DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT PACQUIAO” AND THATS IT. NO PROBLEM. INSTEAD HE WOULD SAY DEFAMATORY WORDS AND TRY TO BRAG HE IS THE BEST FIGHTER OF ALL TIMES, WHERE MOST PEOPLE WHO HEAR HIM WILL NOT BELIEVE UNLESS HE FIGHTS, PACQUIAO, COTTO, MARGARITO, … THOSE GREAT FIGHTERS WHO ARE YOUNG AND NOT 35 YEARS OLD OR 38, NEAR RETIREMENT. BEING UNDEFEATED DOES NOT MAKE ONE GREAT. IN ORDER FOR HIM TO BE CONSIDERED A GREAT FIGHTER, HE MUST FIGHT THESE GREAT FIGHTERS MENTIONED ABOVE, AND STOP CLAMORING AND GIVING A LOT OF CONDITIONS, BECAUSE ALL THESE CONDITIONS CREATE THE PENUMBRA TO THE MINDS OF PEOPLE WHETHER HE IS REALLY A GREAT FIGHTER.
OTHER PEOPLE SHOULD REQUIRE HIM TO HAVE A BLOOD TEST BEFORE FIGHTING HIM, INCLUDING XYLOCAINE AND OTHER TESTS BECAUSE HE IS THE ONE SURROUNDED WITH DRUG USERS AND PUSHERS THAT ARE NOT ONLY ACCUSED, BUT PROVEN AND CONVICTED IN COURT OF CRIMINAL OFFENSES RELATED TO DRUG USE AND VIOLENCE.
I BELIEVE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY DOES MAYWEATHER HAVE, HE NEEDED TO BEHAVE LIKE A RESPECTABLE MAN IN ORDER FOR HIM TO GAIN RESPECT. THIS IS THE EFFECT OF LACK OF DISCIPLINE IN THE USA SCHOOLS, WHICH I BELIEVE THE UNITED STATES HAVE TO DO SOMETHING IN LEGISLATING RULES TO CONTAIN THE ANIMALISTIC BEHAVIORS OF KIDS IN SCHOOL, SO THAT WHEN THEY GROW UP THEY WOULD BEHAVE IN A WAY OUR COUNTRY USA WILL BE PROUD OF THEM, AND NOT BRING SHAME TO OUR PEOPLE AND CREATE DISGUST TO THE WHOLE WORLD.
RIGHT NOW, MAYWEATHER MAKES THE WHOLE WORLD WAIT FOR HIS SIGNATURE. THE PEOPLE WHO GAVE HIM ALL HIS MONEY ARE TIRED. HE NEEDS TO RETIRE FOR GOOD AND SHUT UP IF HE HAS NOTHING GOOD TO SAY TO OTHERS.
Pacquiao vs. Mayweather will never happen because of cowardice. Mayweather will have to wait after Pacquiao vs. Cotto 2 @ 154# and then ASSES Pacquiao’s performance @ 154#. If Pacquiao’s speed and power remains the same or improved, Mayweather will still not fight Pacquiao @ 154# but may possibly challenge Pacquiao @ 160#. If Pacquiao’s speed and power @ 154# is diminished remarkably, Mayweather will challenge Pacquiao to fight @ 154# w/o stringent blood test and won’t demand 60/40 $ partition!!!!!If Pacquiao retires for good, Mayweather will challenge Pacquiao to come out of retirement, then Mayweather will accuse Pacquiao as the one who is coward.
Both men feel they can win the fight, there’s a simply solution to
the purse issue, either 50/50 or 60/40 60 to the winner

PEOPLE MIGHT NOT WATCH ANYMORE ANY OF THEIR FIGHTS UNLESS IT IS BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM. MAYWEATHER HAD ALREADY RETIRED. NOW HE CAME OUT OF RETIREMENT, WHAT FOR ??? TO FIGHT PACQUIAO. THIS IS WHAT HE WANTS. ITS TOO LATE, PEOPLE ARE EXPECTING HIM TO PICK UP THE CHALLENGE. TO RUN AWAY FROM IT NOW MEANS TO CHICKEN OUT. THIS IS WHAT EVERYBODY SEES AND SAYS.
