Agbeko-Mares & Darchinyan-Moreno Weigh-in Results & Pictures

Undefeated Abner Mares (22-0-1, 13 KOs) of Hawaiian Gardens, Calif., and challenger Joseph King Kong Agbeko (28-3, 22 KOs) of the Bronx, N.Y., both weighed in at 117.25 pounds Friday at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., just a day before their highly anticipated rematch tomorrow/Saturday, Dec. 3, on Showtime. Mares, whose International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver belts will be on the line in what will be an action-packed 12-round fight, won the IBF bantamweight title with a majority 12-round decision over the defending IBF titlist Agbeko on Aug. 13 in Las Vegas.

This will be Agbeko’s first fight in Southern California. Tickets for Mares vs. Agbeko II, priced at $150, $100, $50 and $25, are available at all Ticketmaster locations, online at ticketmaster.com, via charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000 and at the Honda Center Box Office.

Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno weighed in at 118 pounds even and Vic “The Raging Bull” Darchinyan 117.75 pounds.

Moreno (31-1-1, 11 KOs) of Panama City, Panama, will be making his United States and Golden Boy Promotions debut on Saturday.

Darchinyan (37-3-1, 27 KOs) of Sydney, Australia, is expecting a large contingent of Southern California Armenian fans to attend the fight.

The night of fights are being promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, Don King Productions and Gary Shaw Productions.

Honda Center doors open Saturday at 2 p.m. The first non-televised undercard fight begins at 2.
