Jazza Dickens’ MTK Golden Contract final against Ryan Walsh has been postponed after Dickens and trainer Derry Mathews tested positive for COVID-19.

Dickens and Walsh were set to battle it out in Wakefield on Wednesday in a rescheduled Featherweight final clash, with a lucrative deal with MTK at stake, however the Liverpool fighter and trainer, Mathews have since left the bubble.

The show will continue with a five-fight bill, after all other fighters returned negative tests for COVID-19.

Ohara Davies tops the card in a grudge MTK Golden Contract Super-Lightweight final against Tyrone McKenna, whilst Liam Conroy takes on Serge Michel for a place in the Light-Heavyweight Golden Contract final.

A statement from MTK Global said: “Following the results of the COVID-19 testing, the fight between Jazza Dickens and Ryan Walsh has unfortunately been postponed due to positive tests for Dickens and his trainer Derry Mathews.

“All health and safety protocols regarding social distancing were followed in relation to the guidelines put in place by the British Boxing Board of Control, with no other fighters on the bill testing positive.

“MTK Global will continue to monitor the situation as the health and wellbeing of all involved is our utmost priority.

“Dickens and his team have immediately left the fight bubble, with the show proceeding with the remaining five fights on the card.
