Today in Cataño, Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican prospect Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Rodriguez ( 9-0, 5 KO’s ) and his opponent Alexis ‘Beaver’ Santiago ( 16-3, 7 KO’s ) of Phoenix, Arizona met for the first time, heading to their 10 round bout this Saturday, August, 2 at the Cosme Beitia Coliseum in Cataño, PR.

Rodriguez, a former Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games champion mentioned that,”I know I got the tools to defeated Santiago. My boxing skills are superior, and my stamina is great for 10 rounds of war. Mexico vs Puerto Rico is always exciting”, said a confident Emmanuel Rodriguez.

The undefeated Puerto Rican prospect obtained in December, the most significant victory of his young career by defeating former world title contender, David Quijano by unanimous decision.

Alexis Santiago, a WBC United States (USNBC) title holder, defeated on his last outing ( February ), power puncher, Hanzel ‘Rude Boy’ Martinez ( 20-2, 16 KO ) by unanimous decision.

“This is professional boxing. ‘Manny’ was a good amateur fighter but that’s all he was. This Saturday he will go down, and title is going go my people of Mexico and Phoenix” said Santiago, who trains at the Mayweather Boxing Gym in Las Vegas, under the tutelage of Puerto Rican, Rafael Ramos.

In other bouts, 6 rounds fights, undefeated junior welterweight, Emmanuel ‘Pinky’ Colon (5-0, 4 KO’s) vs. Joananthony Vazquez (4-7, 2 KO’s) and Jose ‘Chiquito ‘Soler (5-1, 2 KO’s) vs. Alexis Diaz (0-5-1) at flyweights.

In 4-round fights at the superbantamweight division, Luis Saul ‘Zurdo’ Rosario (2-0-1, 2 KO’s) vs. Leonel Garcia (0-1) and Alexander Charneco ( Debutant ) vs. Roberto Sánchez ( Debutant ). Lightweights Juvenal ‘Gringo’ Ramos (1-0, 1 KO’s) vs. Luis Guzman (1-1, 1 KO’s).Junior welter division, Efrain ‘Macho’ Cruz (3-0-1, 1 KO’s) vs. Henry Lopez (0-2), Bantamweights, Bryan Perez (2-1, 1 KO’s) vs. Alberto Marrero (0-1) and at the super featherweight, Christopher Perez (4-0-1, 2 KO’s) vs. Luis Cuascut (0-10-2) at 130 pounds.
