Juergen Braehmer (41-2, 31 KOs) is ready to impress. Since weeks ago, the southpaw is in intense preparation for the big task ahead of him. On December 14, Braehmer wants to make himself the biggest gift as he tries to again become a world champion at light heavyweight. In Neubrandenburg, Germany the 35-year-old will go toe-to-toe with Marcus Oliveira (25-0-1, 20 KOs) with the vacant WBA World Title on the line.

Since Monday, Braehmer and his coach Karsten Roewer have relocated to a remote training facility in the northern part of Germany for the final weeks of sparring. Roewer is delighted in reference to his prodigy’s shape: “It’s stunning how Juergen performs at the moment. We already had to send home a bunch of sparring partners before moving here.”

Against Don King-promoted Marcus Oliveira, Braehmer wants to become a World Champion for a second time in the professional ranks. Apropos: In 1996, Braehmer won the Junior World Championships in Havana, Cuba with Roewer in his corner. “This should be a good omen for December 14,” said the man from Schwerin. Thanks to his popularity, the Jahnsportforum is close of being sold-out.

Promoter Kalle Sauerland: “Braehmer’s progress this year is sensational to say the least. I feel certain that he is going to beat Oliveira and crown himself a world champion again!”

Still, Braehmer will be on his own inside the ring when he might face the biggest challenge of his career in Marcus Oliveira (34). The Native American holds an unbeaten record, having finished nearly 77 percent of his opponents early.

Sauerland prognosticates: “This is going to be a fight on a level playing field, a thrilling fistic affair and a match-up you should not miss!”
