Ruslan Provodnikov arrived late Monday night in Los Angeles to begin preparations for his June 14 title defense that will be live on HBO.

Provodnikov will be training at the Wild Card Gym with Freddie Roach. Of course, his training with Roach will have to wait in earnest for at least a week, until after Manny Pacquiao’s fight with Timothy Bradley. Then, Roach will be back at the Wild Card and Provodnikov will be able to get things moving.
Right now, the opponent for Provodnikov’s next fight hasn’t been confirmed yet. There have been plenty of rumors on the subject, but nothing definite. Provodnikov has seen the Pacquiao-Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez-Mike Alvarado foursome get locked up, taking away a few of his short-term options.
But there are plenty of intriguing opponents out there in and around the junior welterweight division right now, and as we know, Provodnikov always makes for a great fight.
