Star Boxing’s Atlantic City Card for Saturday Postponed due to Hurricane Irene

This Saturday’s Star Boxing show at the Tropicana in Atlantic City has been postponed due to Hurricane Irene. It will be rescheduled on October 22nd, and will feature the same lineup. The big name headliners were to be Shamone Alvarez and Vinny Maddalone, with appearances by prospects such as undefeated KO artist Jason Escalera, Kevin Rooney Jr, and others.

The Hurricane is expected to batter the length of the east coast all the way up to New England. Atlantic City, of course, lies unprotected as the southeastern tip of New Jersey, a place that should be hard hit, although hopefully the storm is less intense by the team it gets that much farther north.

Stay tuned for any more updates and more breaking stories regarding this weekend’s boxing action and how it may be affected by the storm.
