Tyson Fury fined by BBBoC, but Fury-Chisora II cleared

Tyson Fury’s path has been cleared for his showdown with rival Dereck Chisora after he was fined £15,000 (about $25,000) today by the British Boxing Board of Control on a charge of misconduct.

The pair will now finally settle unfinished business at the ExCeL London in a WBO World Heavyweight title eliminator.

Promoter Frank Warren will hold a press conference on Monday, September 15th in London with Chisora and Fury in attendance with further details to follow shortly.

That all means that Fury vs. Chisora is officially set for November, after being delayed. The “misconduct” from Fury presumably has to do with him pulling out of his fight against Alexander Ustinov as the very last minute. But it’s a minimal fine in the scheme of things, and nobody really thought it would prevent the Fury vs. Chisora rematch from taking place either way. Stay tuned for more updates on the bout next week.
