This is a fight which has been in the works for quite some time, and it’s a fight that has fans salivating, as it’s a can’t miss barn-burner.

The match has been set for October 19 in Denver, and HBO will televise the contest. Alvarado is coming off his win over Brandon Rios in their rematch, and Provodnikov is coming off a narrow loss to Timothy Bradley earlier in the year, in another wildly entertaining contest.

These two guys are absolutely going to pummel one another, showcasing all of the trademark lack of defense and movement which keeps fans coming back for more these days, of course.

Apparently there had been some difficulty negotiating the details on this bout, and with the punishment which is sure to ensue for both men, hopefully each has secured a nice payday here.

Mitchell vs. Arreola

Seth Mitchell is another fighter who righted the ship in a recent rematch, coming back from a KO defeat to score a win, in this case, a decision over Johnathon Banks. Now, he’s set to take on Chris Arreola, who’s coming off a loss to Bermane Stiverne.

It’s a big fight in the careers of both men, as the loser is going to be stuck pretty far down the totem pole at this point.

Mitchell vs. Arreola will take place on September 6 at Fantasy Springs in California, and will be part of a televised tripleheader on Showtime. Also rumored for the card are Josesito Lopez and Rafael Marquez.

Perhaps the winner of this fight gets paired with the ever-so-slowly progressing Deontay Wilder, although an Arreola vs. Andy Ruiz fight would be a natural.
