WSB boxers looking lean and mean as they step onto the scales

It does not get any bigger than this, the top ranked boxers in each of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) weight categories taking to the scales to announce their arrival in London as they seek glory on the grandest stage of all. The ExCeL London, the venue for the boxing event at the Olympic Games, will be the arena in which these highly talented boxers battle it out for ultimate supremacy. This will really be the best of the best vying for a career defining World title.

The Crowne Plaza London Docklands was once again the glamorous setting for the weigh-in as the competition’s top fighters each took their turn getting weighed, looking all in top shape and ready to stake their claim to the much coveted WSB World Champion belts. Boxers of the highest quality are set to light up a night of adrenaline packed pugilistic action.

Baku Fires’ 21-year-old orthodox rising star Heybulla Mursalov could not contain his excitement when he declared, “It is a great feeling to be here in London. I really can’t wait for the fight to get started. It will be an amazing moment in both my life and my career. I promise all WSB fans that my fight will be an amazing one. I know Derevyanchenko very well and I respect him a lot, he is a great fighter. To be the best you have to fight against the best and I am 100% convinced that I will win. A lot of fans back home are expecting that from me and I cannot disappoint them, it is my chance and I will not let it pass by”.

There was a friendly rivalry between teammates Azamat Murtuzaliyev and Ramazan Magomedau who each other so well as they squared up to each other, the latter saying, “Once we step into the ring, we will not need each other, all that will matter will be the win. When there is a World title on the line, the person in front of you is your enemy”.

Croatian Heavyweight star Filip Hrgovic from Paris United was just naturally happy to be there, stating it was “great stuff” for him personally. Then when asked how he felt mentally, he said, “I feel very positive, I always am, there is no pressure. The weigh-in is always more difficult because standing toe-to-toe with your opponent is very intimate, you have to look each other in the eyes and there is that great tension. In the ring though I feel much more comfortable, it is my space and I know what to do”.

It promises to be an enthralling night with these top talents looking to show the world what they are capable of.
