Adam Azim vs Santos Reyes – Results & Post-Fight Report

Adam Azim continued his education, and he picked up the vacant WBA Continental super lightweight title, but had to go the full ten rounds before widely outscoring Santos Reyes at OVO Arena, Wembley.

Azim had been touted as a future pay per view star, and 2022 saw him bank four straight early knockout wins. Reyes was fighting outside of Nicaragua for the first time, and had been into the tenth round in each of his previous two contests.

Azim (8-0, KO6) began in his usual quick fashion, but Reyes (12-1, KO3) held firm to see out the first round. Azim found the opening in the second with a well-timed right hand that stopped Reyes in his tracks and left him on the canvas in instalments. The visitor beat the count, and saw out the frame, but Azim was in complete control, using his repertoire to maximum effect. To his credit, Reyes hung in there, but was unable to produce much to trouble Azim, and the favourite was forced to go past the sixth round for the first time in his career. Azim was caught by a left hand at the end of the seventh, but quickly shook it off, and coasted through the remainder of the fight as it went to the cards.

Three cards at 100-89 put the cap on a one-sided win.

The vacant WBA Continental title was also at stake at super middleweight, where Zak Chelli (13-1-1, KO6) claimed the belt with an impressive unanimous win over Anthony Sims Jr (23-2, KO20). Chelli landed the meatier blows for the majority of the fight, and took complete control after halfway, eventually winning by two scores of 98-92 with a third card adjudging him a 99-92 victor.

Tyler Denny (16-2-3, KO0) continued his good form, as he defended his English middleweight title with a dominant points win against Brad Pauls (16-1, KO9). Denny largely controlled the action and ran out the winner by two scores of 97-93, and a third tally of 98-93.

Caroline Dubois (6-0, KO5) took yet another early win, this time a third round stoppage of Feriche Mashaury (10-8, KO3) in their lightweight meeting set for eight. Dubois had Mashaury over in the second from a straight left hand, and the end was only one more round in coming, an accumulation of punches allowing the referee to step in.

Viddal Riley (8-0, KO5) took care of Anees Taj (7-3, KO5) forcing the a stoppage on the advice of the doctor at the end of the third of eight at cruiserweight. Taj was badly cut, and ruled unable to continue.

Stephen McKenna (13-0, KO12) took a facile fifth round victory at welterweight against Brendon Denes (11-10-2, KO6). Denes was knocked down in the third, and refused to come out for the fifth, where the fight was waved off.

Hasan Azim (6-0, KO3) scored an early win, stopping Abdallah Luanja (15-10-2, KO10) in the second of their scheduled six rounder at welterweight. Azim had Luanja tottering at regular intervals, and the fight was waved off with the visitor on unsteady legs and clinging to Azim for dear life.

Jordan Reynolds (5-0, KO2) delighted his fans, as he halted Mohamed Cherif Benchadi (4-21-2, KO0) in the sixth and final round of their super middleweight clash.

Jeamie TSV (4-0, KO2) took the heavyweight battle of unbeatens, winning a 77-75 verdict over eight against Harry Armstrong (5-1-1, KO0).

Razor Ali (7-0, KO1) opened the show, and broke down Hector Avila Lozano (1-2, KO1) before forcing a third round stoppage in their featherweight clash set for four.
