Al Bernstein to appear with Ditka & Sayers at Legends Fight Night in Chicago

The 10th Anniversary of Legends Fight Night will take place on October 4th, 2012 in Chicago at the Chicago Illuminating Company. The event is hosted by OpenField Foundation and will honor NFL Legend Mike Ditka along with honorary hosts Gale Sayers and Neal Wilkinson. This year’s exclusive event has chosen the Gale Sayers Center and the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund as the charitable beneficiaries.

Legends Fight Night will have International Boxing Hall of Famer Al Bernstein as the event’s ringside commentator. Bernstein is an award winning sports commentator for ESPN, Showtime and Great Britain’s Channel 5. After being the voice of boxing for over 30 years, Al is now forging a new road on the internet as Executive Producer of BoxingChannel.tv, the first all boxing channel created. Bernstein has used his talents to chronicle his great broadcasting career by releasing his new book “30 Years, 30 Undeniable Truths.”

“As a native Chicagoan I understand what Mike Ditka and Gale Sayers mean to everyone in Chicago. My admiration for them is unbounded. I can’t wait to return home for the Legends Fight Night to honor Coach Ditka and help raise funds for the Gale Sayers Center and the Open Field Foundation. It should be a grand evening,” Bernstein stated.

Legends Fight Night, one of the “IT CHARITY EVENTS” in Chicago, will feature Golden Glove-style boxing matches consisting of exciting fighters from the United States and Canada. The event will also include: five VIP Lounges, a VIP Dewars Scotch Lounge and Punch Cigar Lounge, live auction, live paintings by Artbeat Live, and live musical entertainment. The evening will celebrate and support the OpenField Foundation, for all the positive work it has contributed in the community throughout the years. The two charities benefiting from the event, Gale Sayers Center and Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, are both honored to be part of an event that has raised in excess of 1.9M over the past 9 years.
