Dave Allen and Arslanbek Makhmudov are set to clash in an eagerly-anticipated heavyweight clash this Saturday in Sheffield.
Allen, 33, faces the towering Russian power-puncher at the Utilita Arena, knowing victory will catapult into some major fights, with promoter Eddie Hearn already teasing a potential showdown with former heavyweight titlist, Deontay Wilder.
‘The White Rhino’ resurrected his career with a fifth round knockout of Johnny Fisher in May, after suffering a contentious split decision defeat to the Essex man five months prior.
Makhmudov, who resides in Canada, carries a reputation as a fearsome knockout artist having ended 19 of his 20 victories inside the distance.
The 36-year-old has been stopped twice to now-WBC interim heavyweight champion, Agit Kabayel and Guido Vianello most recently last August.
The ‘Lion’ is a very slight favourite with the bookmakers in what will be his first bout in the UK.
