Australian middleweight Jarrod Fletcher signs with Greg Cohen

Promoter Greg Cohen of Greg Cohen Promotions is proud to announce he has formed a promotional partnership with Adam Wilcock of Australia-based FightCard Promotions to sign WBA #5 middleweight and current PABA Champion Jarrod “Left Jab” Fletcher (15-1, 9 KOs).

29-year-old Fletcher, of Hervey Bay, Queensland, was a 2008 Olympian and highly decorated former amateur, holding victories over accomplished professionals such as James DeGale and Adonis Stevenson.

A fluid technician able to outbox, out-think and out-move opponents, Fletcher is equally happy as the aggressor or as a counterpuncher and has shown KO power at the domestic level. In 2012, he captured the Australian title defeating world-rated Johannes Mweputunga, before moving on to defeat the tough Robbie Bryant later in the year to re-claim the PABA title he’d relinquished through minor injury in 2010. Since beating Bryant, Fletcher has beaten two well-respected opponents in Kiatchai Singwancha and Randy Suico.

“I’m excited to have this opportunity and I thank Greg Cohen for showing faith in me,” said Fletcher.

“As a boxer I give everything to my training and delivering in the ring, the rest I leave to my management and trainer. With a team working for me in both the US and Australia, to push me forward and get me the top fights, I will repay them with a world title.”

“Jarrod is a future star in the middleweight division,” said Cohen.

“I’m very excited to be partnering with FightCard Promotions and Adam Wilcock and I look forward to helping bring Jarrod onto the world stage where he belongs. With all of his skills and experience, he is ready to become a major force at 160 lbs.”

“Jarrod is a rare Australian talent who now needs to look to develop his career internationally,” said Adam Wilcock.
“Partnering with Greg Cohen and GCP gives us the best possible platform to manoeuvre Jarrod into a position where he can fight for a genuine world title. The strong links between GCP and FightCard Promotions mean that the chances will now come for Jarrod and that’s all we can ask. I’m confident with this partnership in place the future is very bright for Jarrod and his world title prospects.”
