Daniel Dubois is set to step into the biggest fight of his career in less than two weeks.

Former world champion Tony Bellew recently spoke to Bet365 about the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Dubois.

Bellew shared the ring with the Ukrainian in 2018 where he was stopped in the eighth round and retired following the loss.

The 42-year-old spoke highly on Usyk’s undeniable talent, compared to other stars in the heavyweight division.

“Usyk is the best heavyweight in the world. He’s probably the best heavyweight of our era, there is no disputing it anymore.

“He’s amazing at what he does.”

In their first meeting Usyk stopped Dubois in the ninth round following a controversial low blow in the fifth round.

Following their first meeting, Dubois has had longer with coach Don Charles where he has turned his fortunes around, looking like a different fighter.

Since the loss in 2023 Dubois has picked up career-defining stoppages over Jarrell Miller, Fillip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua.

The 27-year-old comes in as a heavy underdog for the rematch, similarly to when he beat Joshua last year at the same venue last year, however Bellew has urged people not to write ‘DDD’ off.

“Dubois has been amazing. I’ve wrote him off on a number of occasions and he’s come back to prove me wrong.

“You’ve got to give him a shot and he’s in with a chance, but Usyk has already made him quit once so can he make him do it again?

“He [Dubois] is at a stage in his career now where he’s overcome such adversity and he’s the most confident he’s ever been.”

If Usyk wins he will remain the only ever man to become undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era when he beat Tyson Fury last May.

For Dubois a win would be the biggest of his career, becoming the second ever British undisputed heavyweight champion, emulating the great Lennox Lewis who achieved the feat in 1999.
