Kell Brook has confirmed his intention to return to the ring.
Former welterweight world champion, Brook retired shortly after stopping long-time rival, Amir Khan in 2022.
’The Special One’ has been linked with a comeback ever since and was set to return earlier this year in Dubai against Eisa Al Dah in a tribute bout to the late Ricky Hatton, who passed away last year.
The fight fell through, but the Sheffield man remains on course for a return to the ring later this year.
Brook, who turned 40 in May, revealed on Saturday he will be coming out of retirement.
“There’s some massive news about to drop,” he told talkSPORT.
“I’m coming back.
‘There’s going to be a massive fight coming your way.
“It’s about done.
“It’ll happen this year.”
‘The Special One’ has been linked with a showdown against Chris Eubank Jr for several years.
The pair’s rivalry originated a decade ago when Brook pipped him to a showdown with Gennady Golovkin.
Eubank Jr has been out of the ring since losing in a rematch to Conor Benn in November and Brook teased a potential clash with the Brighton man.

Last month, Brook said he would lace up the gloves once more for a clash with Eubank Jr.
“If the right offer comes in, I will fight,” the 40-year-old told Boxing King Media.

“You’ve just been with him in my motherland of Nigeria, but you know, the offer still stands.
“If we can be sensible and give me what I’m worth, that fight can happen.
“If it doesn’t, I’m happy.”
