Canelo Alvarez warned Terence Crawford that he will prove himself as the best fighter of their era when they clash on September 13.

Canelo will defend his undisputed super middleweight titles against Crawford in Las Vegas, live on Netflix with a venue still to be determined.

Four-weight world champion, Crawford is undefeated in 41 professional bouts and considered by many as the pound-for-pound best fighter on the planet.

The Omaha man will move up two weight classes to challenge Alvarez and the Mexican great feels his rival is not quite at his level.

“He’s a great fighter,” the 34-year-old said.

“But he’s not Canelo.

“On September 13 in Las Vegas, I remind the world who runs this era.

“This isn’t just another fight, it’s the Riyadh Season Card that’s live on Netflix and I’m the main event.”

Crawford was ringside for Alvarez’s victory over William Scull on May 3 in Saudi Arabia in which he ripped away the Cuban’s IBF crown to reclaim the undisputed championship.

The pair faced off afterwards and Saudi Arabian boxing chief, Turki Alalshikh announced they would fight on September 12 at Allegiant Stadium.

Alalshikh, who signed Alvarez to a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, moved the bout to September 13.

The fight will remain in Las Vegas, but it remains unclear whether Allegiant Stadium is still in play, with the venue currently booked for a college football game between UNLV Rebels and Idaho State.

UFC president Dana White will promote the highly-anticipated showdown alongside SELA, an event that will mark his first in boxing.

White and Alalshikh inked an agreement in March to establish a new boxing league under the TKO banner, who own both the UFC and WWE.

“Turki wants to make the biggest fights that the fans want to see in boxing,” White said.

“And this is right up my alley.

“Are you kidding me that the first boxing fight I’m going to get to promote is Canelo vs Crawford?

“It’s literally a once in a lifetime fight.”

Netflix drew a reported audience of over 108 million viewers for their inaugural live boxing event between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in November and the streaming giant will broadcast the third fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano on June 11 at Madison Square Garden.

Canelo and Crawford will come face-to-face again on June 20 when they begin a three-city press tour to promote their super fight, starting in Riyadh.

The pair will then meet on June 22 in New York before facing off for the final time before fight week on June 27 in Las Vegas.
