Derek Chisora is preparing for his final fight in a professional boxing ring.

Chisora has promised to call time on his 18-year career after one last outing, in what will be his 50th professional bout fight and is expected to take place later this year.

The 41-year-old has been linked with a host of names including a rematch with Joseph Parker and a trilogy with Dillian Whyte, who was stopped in one round by Moses Itauma earlier this month.

The Londoner though could be in for a shock showdown with current IBF cruiserweight world champion, Jai Opetaia.

The undefeated Australian has missed out on a much-desired unification with the injured WBA and WBO champion, Gilberto Ramirez and has been ordered to defend his belt against the unbeaten, but little-known German, Huseyin Cinkara.

Opetaia’s manager Mick Francis claims Saudi Arabian boxing chief, Turki Alalshikh wants to see the 30-year-old move up to heavyweight to face Chisora.

“I’ve spoken with the IBF and said ‘if Jai goes up, where would you put him?’” Francis told FOX Sports Australia.

“And they’ve told me he would go straight to number three in their rankings.

“Turki Alalshikh also wants to make that fight with Chisora.

“I’ve spoken with Queensberry too, and they’re interested.

“Everyone knows that fight would be massive.

“There would be plenty of interest.

“Although I’d hate to think how much money Chisora would want, because he’s going to get hurt.

“He’d be no match for Opetaia.

“I know Jai would hurt him.”

Chisora is the number one contender with the IBF to undisputed heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk’s crown.

Usyk has been ordered to make a mandatory defence of his WBO title against interim titlist, Parker.

The pair were given until August 23 to reach a deal, however Usyk requested an extension to negotiations, following an injury.
