Derek Chisora has warned Fabio Wardley ahead of a potential shot at undisputed heavyweight world champion, Oleskandr Usyk.

Wardley called out Usyk after his dramatic 11th round stoppage of Joseph Parker last Saturday at the O2 Arena, a bout Chisora was ringside for.

Chisora knows better than most about the challenge the Ukrainian possesses, having gone 12 rounds with him in a losing effort in October 2020.

Usyk has already beaten five Brits, including Daniel Dubois who he stopped in five rounds of their rematch in July to regain the undisputed championship and Chisora has backed him to add Wardley to that record with a stoppage win.

“Usyk will have him out of there in less than six rounds,” the 41-year-old told The Sun Sport.

“Because Usyk will make him work when he doesn’t want to work.

“Usyk is a beast.

“He has to be much fitter than he is right now.

“There’s no boxing skills with Usyk, you have to be fit.

“You have to stay with him.

“He’s making you move, making you work, making you think, zapping your energy.

“One minute he’s here, next minute he’s there.”

Usyk was ordered to defend his WBO title against then-interim champion, Parker, but was given a 90-day extension on negotiations after picking up an injury.

Following Wardley’s victory, the 38-year-old now must face the Ipswich man next or vacate his belt.

Chisora, who is finalising a December trilogy with Dillian Whyte for his final professional bout, is doubtful whether Usyk will face the 30-year-old.

“I believe that he won’t get the fight,” he added.

“Usyk will ask for more money.

“That’s what he wants, big money.”

Usyk, who turns 39 in January, said last month he will continue fighting until he’s 41.

The two-weight world champion has been linked with a third bout with the retired Tyson Fury and has ruled out a future clash with rising prospect, Moses Itauma.

“No, I won’t fight Itauma,” he told Ready To Fight.

“He’s young — always teasing me.

“And he said himself he doesn’t hit grandpas.

“I can’t say who exactly, because negotiations are ongoing. I’d be lying if I gave you a name.”
