At Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit this Saturday, Claressa Shields is in action, and she defends her undisputed heavyweight title at the head of affairs against Lani Daniels.

Daniels looks to cause a huge upset over Shields.

DAZN is the place to watch the action.

After cleaning out the super welterweight and middleweight divisions, and dabbling in MMA, Shields (16-0, KO3) returned to boxing, and set her sights on the heavyweight division, taking the WBC title with a second-round stoppage of Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse in Detroit last July.

That win also confusingly won Shields the vacant WBO light heavyweight title, but the Michigan native stayed at heavyweight to go after the remaining belts, and she claimed them by widely outscoring Danielle Perkins in February, dropping her opponent in the final round.

She now defends against IBF light heavyweight champion Daniels (11-2-2, KO1), a New Zealander in good recent form.

After two early losses, and a pair of draws against Tessa Tualevao, Daniels has won her last seven, taking the IBF heavyweight title before winning the vacant IBF light heavyweight title with a majority decision win against Desley Robinson in December 2023.

Daniels was last out last September, clearly winning on points against Bolatito Oluwole in Hamilton.

Prediction: Shields is levels above a lot of female operators, and there will be another gulf in class in this one. I expect ‘The GWOAT’ to record another landslide points win.

Remaining Undercard:

On the undercard, former WBC champion Tony Harrison (29-4-1, KO21) returns after over two years away, and he moves up to middleweight, where he should take a stoppage win against Edward Ulloa Diaz (15-6, KO12) in their scheduled ten-rounder.

Super lightweight prospect Samantha Worthington (11-0, KO7) is in action, and she should be able to take a points win against France’s Victoire Piteau (14-2, KO2) in their ten-round contest.

The final ten-rounder is at featherweight, where Caroline Veyre (9-1, KO0) can defend her WBC Silver title with a points win against former world title challenger Licia Boudersa (24-3-2, KO4).

In eight-rounders, Pryce Taylor (8-0, KO6) can outscore Robert Simms (12-4-1, KO3) in their heavyweight meeting, and Leon Lawson III (17-1, KO10) should halt Ryan Wilczak (11-1, KO6) at middleweight.

Unbeaten super middleweight prospect Da’Velle Smith (12-0, KO8) can win early against Martez McGregor (9-8, KO7).

The only six-rounder is at featherweight, where Cameron Pankey (11-1, KO4) can win on the cards against Dominique Griffin (6-9-2, KO2).

In four-round action, Kahmel Makled (2-0, KO2) can win his light heavyweight contest with Evans Norris (0-3-1) inside schedule, and Sardius Simmons (1-0, KO1) can take an early win at heavyweight against Demetrius Banks (13-16-2, KO6).

Middleweight hope Jaquan McElroy (2-0, KO1) should also be an early winner against Joshua Flores (5-6, KO2).
