Claressa Shields added another chapter to her legacy on Saturday night at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, cruising to a lopsided unanimous decision over New Zealand’s Lani Daniels to retain her undisputed heavyweight championship.

The Michigan native, already a two-weight undisputed champion, showcased her usual mix of speed, precision, and composure to move to 17-0 (3 KOs) in a fight that was never in doubt. Judges scored it 100-90, 99-91, and 99-91, reflecting the one-way traffic over ten rounds.

Daniels, the reigning IBF light heavyweight champion, entered with solid credentials at 11-3-2 (1 KO) but was simply outgunned by the sharper, faster, and far more experienced Shields. After a quiet opening round, Shields found her range in the second with a looping right hand, setting the tone for what would be another dominant display.

The fourth round saw Shields go up a gear, targeting both head and body with crisp combinations. Daniels showed grit, particularly in the fifth, but Shields was relentless. A big right hand in the sixth visibly shook Daniels, and the same shot halted her momentum again in the seventh.

Uppercuts came into play in the eighth, and by the ninth, Shields was in cruise control—backed by a roaring Detroit crowd, she coasted to the final bell in vintage fashion.

It was another showcase for the self-proclaimed “GWOAT,” who continues to etch her name into the sport’s history books.

Former WBC super welterweight world champion Tony Harrison made his long-awaited return, moving up to middleweight and shaking off some ring rust to score a hard-fought points win over Edward Ulloa Diaz. Despite being dropped in the ninth round, Harrison (30-4-1, 21 KOs) did enough to earn scores of 98-91, 97-92, and 96-93 after ten competitive rounds. It was his first bout since a 2023 stoppage loss to Tim Tszyu.

Unbeaten rising star Samantha Worthington (12-0, 7 KOs) picked up the WBA interim title with a majority decision win over France’s Victoire Piteau (14-3, 2 KOs). Worthington controlled the early rounds and held off a late surge to win on two cards (99-91, 96-94), while the third judge had it even at 95-95.

Canada’s Caroline Veyre (10-1) retained her WBC Silver featherweight belt with a wide decision victory over former world title challenger Licia Boudersa (24-4-2, 4 KOs). Veyre boxed well behind the jab and showed excellent footwork throughout, earning scores of 99-91 (twice) and 98-92.
