Kieron Conway defends his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles against the unbeaten George Liddard at York Hall on Friday.

Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom promote Conway vs Liddard and DAZN screen the action live worldwide.

Conway (23-3-1, 7 KOs) has been a solid domestic operator for some time, and has won five on the spin since a points loss to Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams in 2022.

‘Too Class’ won the vacant Commonwealth crown in November last year with a split decision win against Ryan Kelly, and backed that up in May by taking the vacant British title, stopping Gerome Warburton in four rounds.

The young, hungry Liddard (12-0, 7 KOs) comes next for the Northampton man and the 23-year-old from Essex will be competing in his first scheduled 12-rounder.

Liddard went ten rounds with Derrick Osaze in January, taking a close win on the cards, and he was in action in an eliminator for the British title last time out, dropping Aaron Sutton three times en route to a fifth-round stoppage win.

Prediction: Conway may prove an awkward customer here, and I fancy him to retain on points in a close affair.

Sains clashes with Coleman

Unbeaten middleweight prospect, Jimmy Sains looks to add the vacant English title to his collection, and he takes on Troy Coleman for the belt.

Sains (10-0, 9 KOs) went the distance for the first time in his last outing, winning the vacant Southern Area strap by widely outpointing Gideon Onyenani over ten rounds, while Coleman (14-3-1, 6 KOs) has a patchy recent record, but did win the Midlands Area title in his last fight, halting Bradley Goldsmith in seven rounds.

Prediction: Sains looks a solid prospect, and Coleman has been stopped twice in three defeats so the smart money is for Sains to take the title inside the distance.

Ryan faces Watson

Shannon Ryan (9-1, 1 KO) continues her rebuild after losing her British and Commonwealth titles to Emma Dolan last year, and after two wins at eight-round level, she can take the vacant IBF Intercontinental super flyweight crown by securing a points win against Chloe Watson (8-1), who is coming off a points reverse to Jasmina Zapotoczna for the European flyweight title in her last fight.

Bevan battles Ferneza

In eight-round contests, Taylor Bevan (5-0, 5 KOs) moves up to this level for the first time, and the super middleweight can win early again, this time against Slovakia’s Lukas Ferneza (6-3, 3 KOs).

Remaining Undercard

Middleweight hope Emmanuel Buttigieg (9-0, 3 KOs) can bank a points win against Malta’s Christian Schembri (27-12-1, 11 KOs), who has yet to be stopped.

In six-rounders, Jermaine Dhliwayo (6-0, 2 KOs) can win inside schedule at featherweight against Mario Victorino Vera (8-9, 3 KOs), and bantamweight novice Tiah Mai Ayton (2-0, 2 KOs) can win on the scorecard against Laura Belen Valdebenito (8-6-1, 2 KOs).

The sole four-rounder is at super bantamweight, where Adam Maca (2-0, 2 KOs) can be an early winner against Juan Alberto Batista (1-21) of Argentina.
