Terence Crawford is not ruling out further fights after facing Canelo in September.

Crawford will move up two weight classes to challenge Canelo for his undisputed super middleweight crown on September 13 in Las Vegas.

Victory over Alvarez would see the Omaha man become a three-time undisputed champion and put him alongside Floyd Mayweather Jr and Dmitry Bivol as the only other men to defeat the Mexican great.

Many expect the 37-year-old, who is set to earn a career-high payday, to call it a day after he faces Canelo, but ‘Bud’ has teased a return to super welterweight where he secured the WBA title from Israil Madrimov last August.

“I don’t know what people are talking about,” Crawford told Ring Champs with Ak and Barak.

“I see that I got a fight coming up and that’s the only thing on my mind and I ain’t thinking about nothing but that.

“I’m [fighting Canelo] for the opportunity, baby.

“The legacy. The legacy outweighs the money.

“Three-time undisputed. Oo-wee. Coming soon.

“I might go back down to ’54 and do it again [become undisputed].”

Canelo and Crawford were supposed to meet at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders on September 12, but the bout has since been moved to September 13 and is expected to land at a different venue in Las Vegas.

Crawford was ringside in Saudi Arabia earlier this month to witness Alvarez’s victory over William Scull and the pair then faced off in the ring afterwards to confirm their mega fight.

Alvarez, 34, has never lost by stoppage in his only two defeats, but Crawford is not ruling out such a scenario.

“I’m not going in there looking to knock Canelo out,” he told Manouk Akopyan.

“Could it happen? Yes absolutely.

“When I look at Canelo, he’s a smaller, bigger guy moving up in divisions.

“Being that these big guys are slower.

“So they might catch him with something, but he might see it at the last moment.

“They might catch him with a hard shot, but he’s able to roll and turn with it, because he’s coming from a smaller weight class that was faster, that was sharper.

“I’m coming from a smaller weight class that’s faster and sharper.

“So if he gets hit with a sharp punch that he doesn’t see, he’s definitely capable of getting hurt.

“He’s not a machine, he’s human just like me.”
