Moses Itauma’s coach Ben Davison said they would have no issue with facing Oleksandr Usyk if the opportunity came up

Itauma has been linked with a fight with Usyk since stamping his name on the heavyweight division after a devastating first round stoppage of veteran Dillian Whyte in August.

His coach, Davison spoke to Sky Sports and revealed if the fight was offered they would take it.

“I would know that Moses is up for it. I just think it’s a win-win.

“As much as Moses hasn’t boxed anybody like Usyk, Usyk hasn’t fought anybody like Moses, because there hasn’t been anybody like him.”

Itauma looks set to return to the ring open December 13th on a big card in Manchester with fellow heavyweight Derek Chisora set to feature.

A fight with ‘Del Boy’ seems unlikely and it appears Itauma’s team are struggling to find a suitable opponent.

Adam Smith revealed to Pro Boxing Fans that an offer was made for a clash between Itauma and Fillip Hrgovic but the Croatian’s team couldn’t come to a contractual agreement.

For Usyk his future is uncertain. He was set to face Joseph Parker in a mandatory defence of his WBO world title but has since been granted an extension before a fight has to be made.

The Ukrainian is said to be out of action with an injury with many questioning this after a video of the 38-year-old dancing emerged.

A fight with Itauma if possible will need to be made soon with the champion expressing he only has a few fights left in the ring.

Despite the test of the undisputed world champion, Davison is full of confidence in his fighter’s abilities.

“His ability to process information, ‘when I do this you’re doing that, it hasn’t even got to be a mistake but I’m picking up on that’s your reaction to that.

“When you do this, I’m going to make you pay.’

“There aren’t many heavyweights who think like that.”
