Paddy Donovan is eyeing a showdown with Conor Benn ahead of next week’s rematch with Lewis Crocker.
Benn will be a keen observer when Donovan faces Crocker for the vacant IBF welterweight world title at Windsor Park in Belfast next Saturday, six months after their controversial first bout.
‘The Destroyer’ has a rematch of his own on the horizon against Chris Eubank Jr on November 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the pair battling for a second time at middleweight after their epic first encounter in April, which Eubank Jr won by unanimous decision at the same venue.
’The Destroyer’ has vowed to return to welterweight after November 15 and Donovan, who challenges for the belt relinquished by Jaron Ennis, has opened the door to a meeting with him.
“That’s what we’re in boxing for,” the 26-year-old told Matchroom Boxing.

“We have Conor Benn, Jack Catterall, Devin Haney [who challenges WBO champion, Brian Norman Jr on November 22], Ryan Garcia, Manny Pacquiao.
“We have so many big opportunities when we get past Crocker.
“Maybe [I’ll fight] Conor Benn.

“Conor’s another great fighter.
“I like watching his fights, he’s quite exciting.
“That would be a fight that I would be interested in making.”

‘The Real Deal’ looks to exact revenge over Lewis Crocker after their March meeting ended with Donovan disqualified after flooring his rival after the bell.
The Limerick man was in control for much of the first outing and says the dramatic ending has provided added motivation for the rematch.

“Against Crocker it’s the fight that I want to get redemption for,” he added.
“After what happened last time out.
“I know Crocker now. I know what he’s about. I know the way he can fight.
“It’s war and it’s a fight that I want to win so badly.”
