Daniel Dubois was brutally stopped on Saturday night by Oleksandr Usyk.

It is what happened before the clash between Usyk and Dubois that is now flooding the headlines.

It’s emerged that a few hours before ‘DDD’ made the most important ring walk of his career he was actually in attendance at a party.

Over 70 people are reported to have been at Dubois’ house with videos being posted on social media following the loss.

The 27-year-old’s trainer, Don Charles has featured on Talksport where he defended the decision of this rather surprising gathering.

Charles also admitted Dubois didn’t know everybody in attendance which adds to the mystery of the decision prior to such a huge career moment.

“It may appear madness to a lot of people but it’s the same method that got us the victory [against Anthony Joshua].

“Stan Dubois with his extraordinary methods would try and replicate it.

“I can’t sit here and tell you that Daniel knew every single person, but he comes from a large family.

“I know must of those people, but I was not there.”

Charles stated that a gathering of this kind wasn’t the first time to happen for Dubois with one supposedly being held before his clash with Anthony Joshua.

Dubois put in a career best performance against Joshua, dominating him from round one and knocking him out in round five.

“That same gathering we used as the prep for fight day on the AJ fight. A lot was made for the ringwalk when Daniel walked out at Wembley [for Joshua].

“That energy, he was fired up.

“That gathering at the home, the same home, was taken to the dressing room.

“Some of Daniel’s friends and his father’s friends were in the dressing room for the AJ fight.

“That energy is what gave birth to the energy that everybody witnessed in the ringwalk and we were victorious on that occasion.

“If it worked for you the first time, it’s highly likely you’re going to replicate that.”

Dubois is now set to have an extended spell out of the ring following the knockout defeat.

This party continues to confuse many, especially with Dubois arriving with very little time to prepare ahead of his ring walk on the night.
