Chris Eubank Jr has claimed there is still contractual details to be agreed before his rematch with Conor Benn.
Eubank and Benn are set to rematch on November 15th.
The pair reignited a legendary British boxing rivalry that began decades ago between their fathers.
Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank faced off twice with Eubank winning the first fight then the pair rematched at Old Trafford where they fought to a draw.
Eubank Jr spoke on Inside the Ring where he revealed some of the contract remains incomplete.
“These are not easy waters to navigate.
“You know, the final contract for this fight hasn’t actually even been fully agreed on. So, you know, there’s still a few things that we’re gonna try and smooth out and make right.”
It is a possibility Eubank Jr is referring to the weight situation between the pair, in the first fight they met at 160lbs with Benn coming up two weight classes.
There was also a lot of talk on the rehydration clause in Eubank Jr’s contract where he was seen trying to lose the weight in a sauna just days before the pair met for the first time.
He was subsequently fined by the British Boxing Board of Control for the footage and snapped in a recent press conference for the rematch where he accused the board of having Benn, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom best interests in mind.
“Yes, we agreed for a second fight before the first fight. But there are certain parts of the contract that are still up for negotiation.
“I’m not gonna go into what parts of those contracts they are, but we are in negotiations for certain things. So, it’s up to me and my team to get the best deal.”
Eubank Jr’s promotor Ben Shalom could also be seen arguing with Hearn on the DAZN broadcast at the launch press conference where they discussed the dehydration clause in a clip later published on IFLTV.
The pair are set to meet again on November 15th in front of a packed out Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Eubank Jr looks to repeat his first win in April.
In the first fight both men had success in a real back and forth clash that left the pair in hospital.
Benn will be looking to turn the result around next month.
