Carl Froch has labelled Darren Till as “useless” after the Liverpudlian furiously called him out following his win on Saturday.

Till knocked out fellow former UFC fighter Luke Rockhold in the third round in Manchester and immediately got out of the ring to approach Froch, who was watching from the front row.

‘The Gorilla’ was held back by security and Froch swiftly left the AO Arena after the melee.

The 48-year-old retired in 2014 following a brutal knockout of George Groves and despite admitting a clash with Till doesn’t overly excite him, he insists it would be a “mismatch” if it happened.

“Do I want it to happen?” The Nottingham man said on his YouTube channel Froch On Fighting.

“Realistically probably not.

“I retired 11 years ago and when I retired when I was almost 37, I just rendered George Groves unconscious, I was offered a lot of money to fight [Julio Cesar] Chavez Jr, I was offered a lot of money to fight Gennady Golovkin.

“The desire was gone and when the desire is gone, you’re not going to jump in a boxing ring, because it’s the pain game, it’s the hurt game, you can get seriously injured.

“Why would I fight now? Why would I bother? Well, easy money.

“I’m thinking to myself they’re giving money away with these fights, because Darren Till is absolutely f***ing useless.

“I’m talking about professional boxing level.

“At the level he’s at he’s done alright. He’s got decent balance, he throws a decent backhand from the southpaw stance, but let’s be honest this would be a mismatch even at 48-years-old, retired 11 years, it’s a mismatch.”

Till, 32, secured the third victory of his professional boxing career having made the move from the UFC in January where he won the interim welterweight championship.

Froch says he won’t consider ending his 11-year retirement until he has sparred for the first time.

“I’m already in shape, I’m fit, I do quite a lot of cardio.

“I’m in the gym lifting weights.

“I punch the bag, but I’m not sparring, so I would have to start sparring.

“So I’d have to feel how I feel in the gym.

“But the sparring would have to be a level and what level would I pick for Darren Till to spar?

“Not even a Tommy Fury [who was scheduled to fight Till in January before it was cancelled].

“I’ll do a little bit of sparring.

“I’ll go and see [former trainer] Robert McCracken up in Sheffield.

“I’ll have a bit of technical sparring, but at the minute I’ve got no intention, I’ve got no desire to fight.”
