Carl Froch has warned Anthony Joshua ahead of a possible clash with Arslanbek Makhmudov.
Froch and Joshua trained together in Sheffield but ‘The Cobra’ is wary of the Londoner facing Makhmudov next.
Just over a week ago Makhmudov travelled and fought in the UK for the first time in his career.
It was a disciplined performance against fan favourite – Dave Allen, shutting him out comfortably on the scorecards.

In a post-fight press conference he called out Joshua.
He also claimed earlier in the week that an agreement with the Brit was in place should he come through the test of Allen.
“I’d like to fight with Joshua, yes.”

Froch recently posted a video on his Youtube channel – Froch On Fighting where he credited ‘The Lion’ and warned Joshua of the possible matchup.
“Just a quick word on Makhmudov, he’s carried himself well all week, put in a performance against Dave Allen and stuck it on AJ’
“Actually I think they’ve DM’d each other, and AJ said they’ll fight.
“AJ wants to be careful because he can punch a bit so if he sticks it on AJ who knows? I would like to think someone of AJ’s experience can do the business but you just never know.”
The 36-year-old was last in action in September last year where he was brutally stopped by Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.

Joshua is set to return to the ring in the next few months with promoter Eddie Hearn even saying he may be in action before the end of the year.
Hearn has confirmed if the the former two-time heavyweight champion does fight this year it is likely to be on an undercard as they gear up to hopefully face Tyson Fury in 2026.

Fury’s return to the ring is possible in 2026 with promoter Frank Warren claiming he wants a trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk first rather than a British classic with Joshua.
