Devin Haney has weighed in with his prediction for the September super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

Canelo defends his undisputed super middleweight crown against Crawford in the most highly-anticipated fight of the year on September 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, live on Netflix.

Crawford, who is moving up two weight classes to challenge the Mexican great, is the bookies underdog to defeat the four-weight world champion, but Haney has backed him to pull off the upset.

“I think it’s a good match-up,” the 26-year-old told Ring Champs with Ak and Barak.

“It’s a fight that we’ve all been wanting to see.

“Bud has the skills. He’s got the discipline, IQ to win, but Canelo has all that with the size.

“So I think it’s a good fight.

“I’m happy that Bud got the fight.

“I’m picking Bud.

“Will it be an easy task? No, but if anyone can do it I think Bud can.”

Haney looks to become a three-weight world champion on November 22 when he challenges WBO welterweight titlist, Brian Norman Jr in Riyadh.

‘The Dream’ outpointed Jose Ramirez at Times Square in May and was in talks for bouts with Teofimo Lopez and Jaron Ennis, but both proposed fights collapsed.

Norman Jr defended his WBO title with a highlight reel fifth round knockout of Jin Sasaki in June, but Haney has questioned the level of competition the Georgia man has fought.

“It’s hard for me to really rate him,” he added.

“The guy he fought last I never heard of him.

“I know everybody, I’m a fighter and I actually watch boxing, but the last guy I genuinely did not know who he was.

“I’ve been doing this at the highest level for how long? I just don’t know the guys he’s beaten.

“I want the best fighters in the world, so it was like alright the Teofimo fight [didn’t happen] so who’s the next guy.”
