Hot prospect Moses Itauma continues his fasttrack to what he hopes will be world title glory as he faces Dillian Whyte in a scheduled 12-rounder at heavyweight in Riyadh on Saturday.
DAZN pay-per-view is the place to watch Itauma vs Whyte.
Itauma (12-0, 10 KO) stepped up to 10-round level in May last year, winning the vacant WBO Intercontinental title with a second-round stoppage of Ilja Mezencev, and after halting Mariusz Wach in two a couple of months later, the 20-year-old made a statement in Riyadh to round off the year, as he ruthlessly stopped Demsey McKean inside a round.
The Slovakian-born Brit, who is the number one contender to Oleksandr Usyk’s WBO crown, last saw action in May, overwhelming Mike Balogun for another second-round win.
Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) represents Itauma’s stiffest test by far, with ‘The Body Snatcher’ only tasting defeat in very good company.
An early loss to Anthony Joshua was followed by 11 straight wins against the likes of Joshua Parker (UD12), Derek Chisora (twice) and Oscar Rivas (UD12), and after being poleaxed by Alexander Povetkin in five in a stunner in 2020, he immediately avenged that defeat with a fourth-round stoppage in Gibraltar nearly six months later.
Tyson Fury would stop the 37-year-old in six for the WBC title in April 2022, and then Whyte saw his career stall, only boxing three times in the last two-and-a-half years and seeing a rematch with Joshua shelved following a failed drugs test.

The Brixton man was last out in December in Gibraltar, labouring in victory against Ebenezer Tetteh, forcing the Ghanaian to retire after seven rounds.
Prediction: Much could hinge on the shape Whyte is in, and the ambition he has left. I think he can push Itauma hard, and test him regularly. Itauma is young and fresh though, and I think he will grind Whyte down at halfway to take an impressive win.

Ball battles Goodman
Britain’s only reigning world champion also sees action on this card, with Nick Ball defending his WBA featherweight title for a third time against Sam Goodman of Australia.
Ball (22-0-1, 13 KOs) was unfortunate to be held to a draw in a bid for the WBC title in March last year, when dropping Rey Vargas twice wasn’t enough for victory.
The 28-year-old rectified that immediately, taking a split decision against Ray Ford to become world champion.

He has defended twice, stopping Ronny Rios in ten, before forcing TJ Doheny to retire after 10 rounds in Liverpool in March.
Goodman (20-0, 8 KOs) is unbeaten, but has never fought outside of his homeland, although he too holds a win over Doheny, taking a points win over ten in 2023.
The 26-year-old, who saw a showdown with Naoya Inoue cancelled after sustaining an injury, was last seen in May, widely outscoring Cesar Vaca Espinoza.
Prediction: Ball is an all-action talent, and he can win this one inside the distance.
Hrgovic faces Adeleye
A second heavyweight meeting sees Filip Hrgovic tackle former British champion, David Adeleye.
Hrgovic (18-1, 14 KOs) took a points win against Joe Joyce in his last fight, while Adeleye (14-1, 13 KOs) controversially defeated Jeamie TKV in six rounds to win the Lonsdale belt.
Prediction: I favour Hrgovic to stop Adeleye.

Remaining Undercard
Raymond Ford (17-1-1, 8 KOs) is now operating at super featherweight, and the American can make it three wins on the spin since his loss to the aforementioned Ball by outscoring Abraham Nova (24-3-1, 17 KOs) over 12 rounds.
Talented Japanese super featherweight, Hayato Tsutsumi (7-0, 4 KOs) should take a points win against Qais Ashfaq (13-3-1, 5 KOs) and also at 130lbs, Saudi Arabian hope Mohammed Alakel (4-0) can do the same against Yumnam Santosh Singh (3-6, 1 KOs).
