James DeGale vs. Dyah Davis to be shown on ESPN3

ESPN3 to Present Exclusive Live U.S. Coverage of DeGale vs. Davis on Nov. 16 :

ESPN3 will present exclusive live coverage in the U.S. of the 12-round Super Middleweight bout between 2008 Olympic gold medalist James DeGale (16-1, 11 KOs) of London, and the United States’ Dyah Davis (22-3-1, 10 KOs), son of 1976 Olympic gold medalist and former professional fighter Howard Davis, Jr., on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 5 p.m. ET. The fight will take place at Glow, Bluewater in England.

Following this fight, DeGale is slated to fight Mexico’s Marco Antonio Peribán for the right to fight Julio César Chávez, Jr. in a title eliminator.

That’s quite the lineup of fights — predicting three into the future, for a title that as of now, nobody in this picture would have any business fighting for. Maybe by the time DeGale faces Davis, and then Periban, Chavez will have done something of note in the super middleweight division. But as it stands, he should have lost to Brian Vera, and has done nothing else but get suspended since his loss to Sergio Martinez.

DeGale is still a promising prospect, and fights against Davis, and then Periban, if it came to fruition, would help to move him along.
