Former undisputed heavyweight champion, Lennox Lewis has revealed the only man that has a chance against Oleksandr Usyk.

Lewis was the last undisputed heavyweight champion until Usyk defeated Tyson Fury last year.

Usyk reclaimed his undisputed title two weeks ago against Daniel Dubois, brutally stopping him in the fifth round.

Since the victory over Dubois there has been rumours over his next opponent and Lewis stated who he thinks deserves a shot at the titles immediately after the Dubois knockout.

Speaking on DAZN, Lewis said: “I think Joseph Parker has the best chance right now.

“I think they’ve been freezing Joseph Parker out.

“Joseph Parker needs that next fight, so get him in there.

“Joseph Parker has been waiting for his chance.

“I don’t know why he hasn’t had it yet. I think he should be the next fight.”

Parker has been in impressive form since his stoppage loss to Joe Joyce in 2022.

The New Zealander has big wins over Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang and Martin Bakole who stepped in on less than 48 hours’ notice.

Parker was scheduled to fight for a world title in his last fight but Dubois pulled out in fight week due to illness.

The match-up was never rescheduled with the Brit instead taking on Usyk.

Usyk’s next step is now unknown but a return seems likely after his comments in the ring after beating Dubois.

“38 is a young guy, remember. 38 is only the start.

“Maybe we have three choices: Fury, Chisora, Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker. … I cannot now say because I want to go back home.”

Fury continues to be mentioned alongside Usyk’s name after he claimed he will only return to the ring to face the Ukrainian in a trilogy.

Fury spoke to Pro Boxing Fans about his return to the ring.

“If I was going to come back, I’d come back for Usyk.

“But I want a fair result in England. that’s the fight I want next.”

Parker now sits as the mandatory for the Ukrainian’s belts and the WBO have stated a deal must be made in the next 30 days.

As speculation on Usyk’s next opponent continues to grow, Lewis believes Parker is the man that deserves the fight.
