2012 Mexican Olympic boxer Oscar Molina has been preparing at the Maywood Boxing Club for his highly anticipated professional debut, alongside twin brother Javier (11-1, 5 KOs), in Ciudad, Juarez, Mexico on November 24.

The bout marks the first time that the 22-year-old welterweight brothers have fought on the same card since a 2008 Olympic qualifying tournament in which Javier represented the U.S. team and Oscar represented the Mexican team.

“I have no nerves. I’m very excited. I’ve been waiting for this moment for many years and I’m ready to make my debut,” Oscar said. “It’s a dream come true to fight on the same card as my brother once again.”

While Oscar is fighting for his first professional victory, Javier, a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic boxing team, is after his third consecutive victory. He is ecstatic to be a part of his brother’s professional debut.

“It means a lot to me,” Javier said of being on the card for his brother’s debut. “We grew up together in the gym. We always fought together on the same card in the amateurs…[That] he’s going to make his debut and we’re going to fight on the same card, it means a lot to me to witness it right there and be a part of it.”

The two brothers have thick roots in boxing, as they are sons of a former Mexican amateur boxer and brothers of 26-year-old boxer Carlos Molina (18-0-1, 7 KO), who will defend his undefeated record against former IBF and WBA titleholder Amir Khan in December.

The event is promoted by Promociones Del Pueblo in association with Goossen Tutor Promotions.
