Joseph Parker has previewed Dave Allen’s upcoming clash with Arslanbek Makhmudov.

Parker and Allen were in discussions to fight before the Makhmudov fight was made.

Allen got his first  big opportunity in a while on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk & Tyson Fury’s rematch in December where he faced Johnny Fisher and secured a controversial points victory.

The pair rematched six months later where Allen finished fisher with a devastating right hand in the 5th round.

Since the win over Fisher, ‘Doncaster De La Hoya’ has been mentioned to fight many names including Joseph Parker, Deontay Wilder, Tony Yoka and more.

Allen picked hard hitting, knockout artist; Arslanbek Makhmudov for his return in October.

Joseph Parker spoke to Pro Boxing Fans and had his say.

“I think it’s great to see Dave Allen sort of have this comeback, you know, he’s Johnny Fischer twice.

“And now he’s got this, another big fight with Makhmudov.

“The way that he’s been fighting, you just never know.

“When you look at the fight, Makhmudov is a favourite, but you just don’t know.

“Dave Allen is a full of surprises, and it’s just nice to see him involved in bigger fights, and the comeback that he’s had.”

Parker’s next steps remain uncertain with him searching for a world title shot.

The New Zealander was set to challenge Daniel Dubois for his IBF world championship until Dubois stepped out on fight week due to illness.

He was also called as a mandatory for Usyk’s belts but the Ukrainian has since requested an extension before an agreement must be made.

Parker spoke to Pro Boxing Fans and revealed he would be interested in a fight with anyone in the division including Oleksandr Usyk and hot prospect Moses Itauma.

He also named Allen as someone he would be interested in fighting down the line.

For Allen he looks to put himself on the world stage on October 11th in Sheffield Arena.
